Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Plane Finder AR and Plane Finder?
Plane Finder AR is our augmented reality app that shares the data available in Plane Finder- our original iPhone App. Plane Finder provides a near real time virtual radar view of flight from across the world and include a great deal more detail that Plane Finder AR. All Plane Finder apps share common ADS-B data.

Why can't I see all planes?
Aircraft must be carrying ADS-B equipment and we must have a feed in the area. (In the US airlines have been slow to adopt the technology but usage is continuing to rise).

What if my area isn’t covered?
We are always on the lookout for more data feeds. Check back regularly to see if we have added your area. You could even help us by running a free receiver!

If I have an ADS-B receiver can I share my data for use with Plane Finder AR?
Yes. Please contact support@pinkfroot.com and we will assist.

Can I use Plane Finder AR for navigational purposes?
Definitely not. Plane Finder must not be used for navigational purposes under any circumstances

**Whilst we do have the best network please double check coverage using our free app Plane Finder Lite to make sure that we have coverage for your area**

Nice idea, but needs work

I liked the previous version more than this version (9) ... the little area map in the corner is actually confusing ... and type of equipment now is missing most of the time. I'd like the option to turn it off the area map. Like others have said, the data blocks overlap, and there's no way to highlight a particular one. Nice concept, but not a great implementation.

Paid Version Bait & Switch

If you download the free version, called the Lite version, you can select each flight and will be presented with a screen telling you about all of the great features that you will get if you upgrade. It’s all really quite exciting and the AR finder works well. However, the bad news, if you buy the paid version the only feature you get from the giant list of claimed features is the removal of ads. Straight up fraud. Stick to the free version and avoid giving this company your money. Huge bummer as I really like the idea of the app, but without flight details it is just a novelty and the free version is more than sufficient for that.

New update not good

With the latest update, the ability to tell what type of aircraft is above you has been lost. Prior to this update I would have given this app a 5 star review and worth the five dollar cost. I also have recommended to several friends With the new update, it's not worth the price. Also I will no longer recommend this app. Feedback from Pinkfroot on this loss of the plane type feature has been non caring to say the least. Do not waste the $4.99 on this app.
