A bit confusing but nice looking

So to start off with, this app and I don’t have compatible brain functions. My brain is scattered and I am on the hunt for the perfect to do list that works well with my ADHD/bipolar and sleep deprivation brain. So most people may love the way this app works and it’s well designed, so that’s why I kept it at 4 stars. I just got confused trying to figure out how the lists and dates worked and it kept getting me all turned around and I didn’t like the way notifications didn’t pop up like I wanted at the time I set. I need an app that’s more on top of me and reminds me I have stuff to do, but if you’re a planner that likes to take control and opens an planner in the morning without prompt - this will probably work way better for you than it did for me!

The app itself is very nicely designed and very sleek looking. Only problem I had aside from lists and notifications is hitting the check mark button was a bit hard. It kept trying to show functions instead of checking off, but I’ve found that to be a common issue with to do list apps lately.

Thanks for the try! Recommend anyone looking for a more straightforward planning experience try this! If your brain is more scattered, probably not for you, but I’d give it a shot anyway and see if it works :)

Best “to-do” app I have come across so far

This might be my first or second review I’ve ever written. I’ve been using Planny for about 6 months now and I really like it. I think I’ve tried every productivity app in the App Store and Planny has a nice balance in that it’s not too simple nor too complex. I haven’t had any issues with crashes or bugs. I love that is has a widget. I upgraded to pro so I could use it on my iPad and phone. The app itself is beautifully designed. I love the color choices. I do have a couple requests: maybe make it easier to organize todos in order of priority? Also have an “in progress” function so you don’t feel like a complete failure the next day when the app guilts you for not getting anything done.

Side note: I had a question and emailed the developer, he got back to me right away and seems like a really nice guy.

Wonderful design, buggy performance (especially with Apple Watch)

As a longtime user of Things 3, I’ve found a lot to like in Planny. It’s pleasing to use. The gamification makes productivity a bit more compelling. And the day-planning assistant makes me actually look forward to putting together the day’s to-do list.

Sometimes, though, the app behaves in troubling ways. The Apple Watch app only sporadically shows the items in “Today,” even though the complication accurately indicates how many items there should be. The iPhone app sometimes freezes up while trying to scroll, and needs to be force quit. I have faith that the developer, who seems both committed, responsive, and prolific, will work to address these issues — but currently this awesome experience comes with a few bugs.

Developer Response ,

The freeze bug shouldn't happen and I'll try to fix it as soon as possible. The watch app has some problems with the network connection for which no real cause has been found yet. However, I am still trying to fix the problem. :)
