These and many other gardening challenges are what compelled us to create PlantTAGG.
PlantTAGG is the smartest mobile gardening companion available. Our plant content is comprised of thousands of plant species and cultivars which we licensed from leading horticulture universities. Each profile is then hand crafted and curated by Master Gardeners to ensure accuracy, detail and credibility. PlantTAGG is uniquely able to localize suggested care tasks and tips specific for your geographic location using NOAA data, data science and 1500 care rules. Our algorithms compute a season map for your specific yard based on first/last average freeze dates, extreme heat, freeze and average temperatures, sunlight, precipitation and other local climatic data.
At a garden center and want to make a good plant selection decision for your yard's unique micro-climates? PlantTAGG's proprietary 'Thrive Scorecard' can predict the success you will have with a plant based on your exact location, sunlight, moisture and climate.
On a neighborhood walk, in a community garden, on a nature hike and want to know what a plant is? PlantTAGG's PlantID is best in class. Once you have identified a plant, add it to your ‘Favorites’ for later research and purchase.
Want to know when and how to fertilize, prune and deal with pests and disease for each unique plant? PlantTAGG’s tasks and tips are crafted and curated by Master Gardeners and tailored for your specific yard location. As you use PlantTAGG's care tasks the system gets smarter. Great Help!
PlantTAGG has been a great help in creating yard zones and 2 landscape designs. I have used the landscape feature to create a garden by my mailbox and a small shade garden. The design app was great in determine the amount of soil and mulch we would need and then we could switch out different plants. PlantTAGG is able to identify so many plants including weeds which has helped me in my woodland yard zone. I love the thrive score feature which has been instrumental in my garden selections. The thrive score rates the potential success of a plant in a certain yard zone based on sun, water, climate, etc. While I can adjust the water for the plants to thrive, the feature helps me determine if the plant is a right fit in my yard or a particular zone of my yard. I also make sure that I check the plant details which includes if a plant is toxic to dogs. As a beginner gardener, PlantTAGG has been a great app in helping me make educated garden decisions.

PlantTagg is the “go-to” app for all of my gardening needs! Not only do I use it to identify mysterious plants, but I can immediately see a profile that tells all about the plant’s specific requirements and where it will thrive! PlantTagg reminds me of tasks that must be accomplished to ensure the health of each plant in my yard and exactly when I need to do them. Additionally, PlantTagg allows me to search creative garden design plans for inspiration, and there are blogs written by other experienced gardeners to share their expertise. Once you use PlantTagg, you’ll wonder what you ever did without it!

Planttagg is Awesome and Easy!
I downloaded the app over a year ago and have been using ever since. Once I got the areas of my yard set up with all the various varieties of plants, I was notified each time I needed to prune or fertilize. The “ASK AN EXPERT” feature came in handy too when I had a few issues.
As I continue to add to my landscape the “SUGGESTED PLANTS” is very helpful along with the plant identifier (take a pic and it tells you the plant).
All-in-all, if you love gardening or really want to up your game, give Planttagg a go!
