TIPS FOR BEST PERFORMANCE
PlayTally is fastest and most accurate when it scans the users music library regularly. Creating an automated Shortcut to open PlayTally daily or weekly is a GREAT way to ensure data does not backlog.

NOTE: Because PlayTally tracks its own data, it cannot reconstruct playback history from before it was installed.

What’s New

Version 1.3

This update includes substantial performance improvements – like, embarrassingly so – when handling large amounts of data (i.e. Lifetime stats) in the History and Trending tabs.

---

PlayTally is fastest and most accurate when it scans the users music library regularly:
- Creating an automated Shortcut to open PlayTally daily or weekly is a GREAT way to ensure data does not backlog. I STRONGLY recommend users implement this.
- Keeping Background Sync enabled allows more frequent scans without disrupting your flow.

Loving the app but…

This app is nearly perfect for me but I find it slightly annoying that when viewing total hours listened for artists it only shows artists in your library. If you were able to add the statistics from your “trending” category to your “search” category this app would be perfect. Alternatively, if that is impossible, please make it possible to view the same information you can on the “search” category on the “trending” category so I am able to see which artist I had listened to the most. If you are able to do either of these, this would be an easy 5 star app! Still love the app regardless though, thanks for making it!

Edit: I realized that this is currently a feature, but, if possible, I believe that you should make it into a dropdown menu just like the “search” page so you can compare artists.
Sincerely, your valued customer

Love the app but some bugs

I really like having the data for my library but there is a little bug. I have noticed that if you pause your library that song has plays with an asterisk next to it and adds to your totals and can skew the data. It also happens with a random song while I was playing other music

CleDave ,

Good not great.

I got this because I didn’t trust Apple’s Replay site to track my plays. This is better than Replay but it’s still flawed and doesn’t record all my plays; especially if you listen to the same songs several times over a short period of time. There will be songs I listen to 15-20 times and it will only show 4 listens or something like that. Occasionally I’ll get a pop up that says there’s a large number of plays that could be an accident and do I want to count them all or the most recent. I always select to count them all and the numbers are still not even close.
