Claims app

I was directed to Link Service initially for a window repair. Not impressed at all. They offered no detail or follow up. Not even a return phone number.
Our agent’s office could have explained that the app is extremely easy to use instead of gathering the information & then telling me they don’t process claims at all. I wasn’t aware that State Farm no longer requires their agents to assist their clients. My father owned an insurance agency for decades. His motto “Your insurance policy is only as good as it’s agent”.
Perhaps, State Farm should educate their staff in proper client communication. A simple straightforward explanation of how easy the updated system works for you “our valued customer” would relieve much unnecessary angst.
The client is already stressed from having to place a claim. Easing their minds with these kind gestures is much more successful than telling you “call the claims number. We don’t do any claim work”.

Lots of great innovations to make things easier but several things I saw that need work.

Lots of great innovations to make things easier but several things I saw that need work. These are obvious things that any experienced programmer or beta tester would have or should have noticed… and corrected.
One was the picture taking functions for Odometer and VIN Strip on Dashboard. Cell phone cannot fit behind steering wheel (ie between steering wheel and dashboard), and be aimed properly at Odometer Window. I had to hold the phone upside down to take any kind of picture. Then, when aiming at Odometer Window through the box shown on phone screen the App presented an image for approval that was several inches off on the car dashboard. I had to use “Kentucky Windage” to eventually get a pic of actual Odometer Window (aim at a point other than Odometer Window to get a result picture of the Odometer Window). This is inexcusable. Several other similar bugs were noticed. Within the App they ask for an evaluation of App, but there were no provisions for Comments, so have entered them here.
BTW, I have years of experience writing computer software so would consider myself an Expert.

Pocket app

Pocket app worked perfect up to the last request to use 3D, the app allowed me to spot the damage, but would not accept the bumper “crack”as an option, nor could I back out of the app - it pretty much froze where I had to retake all the pictures and resend in an email to the SF admin, who manually then put it into the on- line claim form. The next day, I did receive a reminder to submit my pocket app form and in following the link again, I could submit what I had entered the day before, but again I could not select that the damage included a 4 inch “crack”in the bumper. The option was only a scrape or dent. I chose dent so I could go forward and submit and then had the option to add another picture and a comment and so I did provide another picture of the crack and dent, plus provided a comment on what got hung up in the app the day before. I rated the app a 4*, otherwise, if I had not experienced the glitch, I liked it very much. Very easy to use. Suggest that the app owners provide a number to call when the app gets frozen.
