Pocket Lists is a beautifully designed to-do list app for making checklists, focusing on important tasks, sharing & collaborating on to-do lists and tasks with friends and family. The app excels as both an everyday personal to-do list organizer with sophisticated reminder functionality, and as a family collaboration app for groceries, travel packing, Christmas lists, gift ideas, vacation planning, and more.

You’ll love Pocket Lists for being powerful yet surprisingly easy to use. The app’s feature set makes it a superb replacement for most checklist and to-do list apps, including the stock Reminders app:

• Sync your to-do lists across all your devices for free.

• Share to-do lists and collaborate on tasks with friends, family, and teammates. Sharing a list is as easy as sending a link.

• Personalize your to-do lists with a variety of beautiful icons and cover images for all sorts of things. 400+ awesome colorful icons included!

• To-do Stream: a dynamic to-do list (filter) that collects to-dos among all your checklists, and displays them in the priority & due order, allowing you to focus on what’s important right now.

• All types of to-do reminders: due date, due time, repeating, and location-based — drop pin anywhere on a map, select either “arrive to” or “leave from”, and even define a location radius.

• Set due reminders by typing naturally: “Meeting tomorrow morning”, “Car service Saturday 7pm”, “Prepare Christmas gift list on dec 20 every year”, “Cinema Friday night” and so on. The app automatically understands due date from your input, and sets a reminder.

• Calendar view: rotate your iPhone into landscape mode to see all your scheduled to-dos in a monthly calendar layout.

• Import to-dos and events from stock Reminders and Calendar apps.

• And a lot more:

— Priorities & Notes for to-do items,
— To-do item search,
— Quick inline to-do add,
— Support for #hashtags,
— Dark Mode,
— Archiving feature for hiding certain checklists,
— Copy & Paste add of multiple to-dos at a time,
— Send checklists via email,
— Duplicate and re-use checklists when needed,
— Use dividers to visually group to-dos within big checklists.

Plus an awesome bundle of premium features available as an optional auto-renewable in-app subscription or a one-time purchase:

+ Web App that allows you to work with your checklists using any desktop computer,
+ Subtasks: easily divide big tasks into smaller to-dos,
+ Superpriorities (+3 priority levels): mark particular to-dos as urgent, critical, or not important,
+ Private lists: lock particular to-do lists with passcodes and unlock with Touch ID or Face ID,
+ Custom repeat controls: set to-do repeat intervals and frequencies flexibly,
+ Apple Watch app: use Pocket Lists on your wrist without even taking an iPhone out of a pocket,
+ Custom icons for to-do lists,
+ File attachments: attach files and photos to any to-do items,
+ Per-list and per-priority sound alert customization.

The premium feature set is available as either monthly and yearly subscription or as a one-time purchase. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when a subscription to that publication is purchased. Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the Account Settings after purchase.

App is okay but has a lot of glitches

After marking a task completed many times it would pop back up as yet to be completed. Frustrating to those who like to check things off once and for all. I have attempted to contact the developer(s) but no reply. Also, why can’t the tasks be organized chronologically? If I update a day and time for a task why can’t the software move it? Many times I would move a task and organize it chronologically only to reopen the app and have it not organized the way I had set it. There are good things about this app but the glitches have caused me lost time and I have abandoned it temporarily to see if I can find a better app.

Thank you for your feedback. To quickly clean up & re-sort all to-dos within a specific list, simply open the list and shake your iPhone. This will quickly sort all list contents in the priority → due → name order.

Needs a few tweaks but otherwise good so far

I have been looking for a way to organize all of my daily/weekly/future tasks into different lists and set reminders to do them and this fits almost perfectly. I wish the custom options let me pick specific days and that there was a "weekdays" option. It would also be nice to have an integration to send an email reminder with the notifications, as I often have my phone silenced due to my job. (Teaching middle school. 😬) And I like having subtasks within a larger task, but being able to collapse the subtasks when I'm not viewing them would help me focus and stay organized. It would also be cool to have a note taking feature so I can list out anything I need, links to online meetings, etc. This would work well for sharing lists with others using the app, so you could send out a meeting or project deadline or whatever task needs to be brought to their attention but it requires some brief explanation or resources. I am looking for resources to use with my students next year to help them stay organized and this app is almost there. (Mayhaps offering a education plan would be advantageous? I know I would put some of my budget toward it. 😁)

Getting Worse

6.7.20 Update. Heard back from developer after my review and they suggested I log out of the App and then back in. This corrected the issue of the App jumbling the order of my list items. Has not happened since. Appreciate the support. Have updated rating.

Pocket List used to meet my list making needs. About one year ago I signed into the Pocket List web page to use the app both on my phone and desktop computer. Ever since then the app has had a mind of its own and can no longer be trusted. I have a very important list of items I need to take with me in an emergency. I need this list in a specific order. When I organize the list, Pocket List jumbles it after getting out of the list or sometimes right in front of my eyes. This issue also happens on other lists that I use but not all of them. I am just using the free version and not the subscription. I also logged out of the web page to make my phone app the only data entry tool. I e-mailed Pocket List customer support about the issue, they read the communication but never responded. Unfortunately I have had to look for other list app’s that might be more reliable.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for the feedback! We've got your message and replied for sure, but it appears that an email was not delivered for some reason (please check your mailbox spam folder). Working hard on improving the sync and the web app to make the to-do item sort order sync properly between both apps!
