Keeping track of our aquariums can ultimately be one of the most important parts to the 'reef keeping' hobby. Maintaining husbandry tasks, testing, stability, water changes, inhabitant stats etc. are all vital to keeping successful aquariums.
Pocket Marine was designed to make inputting, storing and keeping all information with you at ease. Often, any issues that we have with our aquariums can be linked to actions that were performed a short time beforehand. For this reason, a log of changes made, actions performed or additions can be vital when trying to decipher a problem that may be in play. Pen and paper has always been a great way to keep this information at hand but, Pocket Marine offers a place to store this somewhere that, this day and age, is with us at all times.
Not just for tracking events. Pocket Marine is a great way to help you log your inhabitants into specific tanks, record your latest water change for your mixed reef tank or simply log your latest maintenance action performed on the fish only office tank. Recording your information couldnt be easier and keeping it on your mobile device saves on that frantic search incase of needing the information at a later date.
Help with that last second impulse buy at the store. With an in depth library of over 800 species of fish, invertebrates and coral and being added to daily, you will always have the information on hand that you need to make that informed decision on a purchase.
We hope you enjoy using the app and that we can help with your success in the hobby and welcome any feature requests you may have.

Good app but still room for improvements
After trying out all the available reef keeping apps I’m sure this is the one with the best UI and design, others look plain and outdated, but the thing is, I don’t get why the parameters shown on the main page can’t be changed all at once, there could be a default setting to choose certain parameters on the 9 squares, or just show the first 9 you record in. For me, I don’t usually test my NO2 and NH3, and it’s a bummer I have to change them to PO4 and something else all the time. Another thing is the graphs aren’t that easy to read, you need to drag and drag to find the right parameter and then drag once more to check out the whole timeline
OK App - Needs Detailed Improvements
The app in general is helpful. It’s worth the $3 or whatever it is. However, it has many small annoying bugs throughout. When you enter a maintenance note, the dates always enter in a random order (sometimes mo/day/year, sometimes day/month/year) sometimes year/day/month), so your notes are never sorted correctly. Tank parameters are sometimes a mess: missing temperatures to select from, and it colors parameters such as a pH of 8.2 red (as in bad) and not green (ok) as it should be.

Hi Mikey367,
Appreciate the review. The date issue, we completely understand the frustration. We originally went with the format dd/mm/yy but having started to implement filters we realised it was necessary for us to use the format yyyy/mm/dd to ensure the order was valid. However, as we do not store any user data, (we have always wanted to avoid having users sign in or hand over details such as email addresses, but this means the data inputted is stored directly to your device which we have no control over) this has resulted in an update being released and allowing multiple date formats as existing results will be one and any new results will be another. We completely understand this frustration but it was one we had to go with to improve the app for future releases. Because we are against asking users for their information we have no way to force the result inputted to read what we need. Clicking the date field and re-saving will correct this issue for each result.
The other bugs mentioned we will look in to right away. We have not come across these small bugs as of yet but will have these corrected ASAP.
If you will be sticking with us Mickey367, we will have these issues ironed out for the next update released. Any other bugs etc found please do feel free to email us at info@pocketmarine.co.uk where we will be happy to help and fix anything that doesn’t seem correct right away.
We hope you choose to stick with us.
Happy reefing Mikey367!
Great App still needs some improvements
This is an awesome app! It tracks just about anything you would need or want to track. There are some improvements that would push this over the 4 stars
-Test Diary:Allow users to set the “preview tiles” in the testing diary as a default view for them. I don’t test all the app’s’ default parameters and am forced to manually configure what I want to see as a “quick view” every time I enter test results
- Test diary: graph is great. However it would be great to see multiple parameters as an overlay of each other to get a better view of balance. For example I’d like to see PO4 and NO3 to see how they correlate with each other in one graphic view. It would also be nice to have the ability for us to export to an excel spreadsheet as well
Habitant diary: it would be awesome if we could enter the fish store’s name and info in our user database so when we do add new livestock, the “where purchased from” can be a drop down for frequently used shops instead of manually entering in info with different variances for the same store.
Other than that, this is an awesome app. Thanks for making it!
