Can’t Do Without It!
That is simply it. I cannot do without Pocket. Had it not been for this application, by any other name, I would not know half the common information that I do! Pocket allows me to collect information at an unbelievable rate and store it for a time when I am able to absorb it fully. There isn’t a day that goes by that I am not using Pocket either to capture and store some information for retrieval at a later date, or to open up and read at my leisure, either online or off, and that is an important distinction. Pocket takes online information and makes it available to me when I am not online. Granted, there are times when it saves information that contains information that is only accessible online, but I know that when I am saving it. Over all, I am completely happy with Pocket and I cannot tell you how good the ‘free’ price tag is, because unlike other free things on the internet, I’ve found that Pocket really is. No kidding. There are no ads and no links to advertising or other kinds of merchandising. It’s free man, so enjoy one of the internet’s gems and download this app before they wise up and start charging for it!
You want this app more than you know
This is such a great app especially for your laptop or desktop computer. I’m someone who reads nearly every article of a magazine if I purchase one beacuse I like to soak in every bit of journalistic detail that’s written for that magazine or newspaper. Aside from reading the news on my NY Times app I also have a variety of blogs, essays, reviews, interviews and other news sites that I follow up on a daily basis. If you like to skim through headlines but lack the time to read them at the moment then this is the best app for you. Pocket lets you come home at the end of the day and skim through your neatly organized list of articles of from the day that you couldn’t take the time to read while you were at work or in class.
I got this app for my iphone and ipad then found it on the app store for my macbook pro. It’s amazing and I love that I can skim through all the news articles from the day or even the week.
It’s easy to use and worth installing on any of your devices.
Simple and Perfect
Some apps are so simple you think to youself, ‘Why didn’t I think of that’, or similarly, ‘Why do you need an app for that. It’s too simple?’. To me, Pocket falls in that category. I constantly navigate the web and quite often there is a larger article/page that I want to come back too. Of course Safari has it’s Reading List feature which ‘sort of’ does similiar things, but where Pocket excels in it’s ease of use and organization. Futher, with bookmarks and all the other functionaliy a browser has to offer, it’s nice to have something removed and separate if for nothing else simply organization.
The UI is very well done and the workflow clean and intutive. The shortcut feature to add a page is quite handy and allows for quick navigation. I can only imagine that over time they will add more features, as many rewviewers have noticed are currently lacking.
Again, great app. Can’t wait to see what’s coming in future releases.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
