PocketPod creates a daily news podcast made only for you! Wake up each morning to a podcast that greets you by name, gives you your local weather, an overview of your calendar for the day and then.. stories you actually care about. All with the same quality, personality, and style that you would expect from NPR, The New York Times, or The Wall Street Journal.
Everyday, we comb through thousands of news stories from massive headlines to niche developments to find the stories you will care about the most. From there, we do further research on each story to get even more background information, opinions, and facts. Finally, we use our proprietary AI technology to turn all that information into a engaging, personalized podcast episode with hosts, reporters, and all the thing that make shows like NPR Up First or The Daily great.
Not happy with our recommendations? You can easily add and remove stories to build your own podcast. You can also share articles, PDFs, or other content and include it in your next episode.
Getting started is incredibly easy. Once you open the app, you will be guided through a quick onboarding where we learn your interests and connect to any accounts you want us to keep you updated on (calendars, reminders, etc.). After that, your first episode will be ready the following morning. It's that simple.

Great app
I’ve been using this app nearly everyday. The customization is awesome - you create your own podcast from your interests. How can it get any better?! Well, you can also save articles you see on the web to PocketPod and it will incorporate them into your stream the next day. You can find that anywhere else. Excellent app - highly recommended!
We got it working
I like the idea and wanted to try it, but multiple bugs during the onboarding killed it for me. Would not allow me to use my Apple ID to create an account so I had to use Google. Then during the onboarding, got hung up repeatedly when asking and giving access to the app on reminders, notifications, and calendar, consistently got hung up which I could only resolve with va forced shutdown. Then you have to start from the beginning. I am running the latest iOS and running it on a iPhone 13 so I don’t think it’s a specs issue. Disappointed.
Update: changed rating to 4 stars. The developer reached out and genuinely wanted to make it right. After some discussion and insights on what is “under the hood” of the app, we resolved the issues. I’ll support anyone who is willing to fix a problem. Looking forward to using this app.
