Poker with Friends – EasyPoker
Ratings & Reviews
Got the app because it seemed like a cool card game to play with some friends during a road trip, however it was more frustrating than anything. You can only play 4 people per table and many times when it’s your turn, you can’t even see the cards you’re felt because it won’t show on your screen. Also there are times when the flop won’t show or the run out too. Not to mention adds popping up every second you’re trying to play a hand.
Developer ResponseSorry about that experience! A road trip with varying connection is tough on a live game. The good news is that most of these issues have been fixed since then. You're 11 updates behind the current version (1.3.37), so it should be a much smoother experience now if you give it another shot!
I tried 10 or so apps on multiple platforms...this is the easiest to set up among a group. I’ve read review saying it gets unstable with 4+ players but I didn’t have that experience. We played 4 mostly complete games (100 blind on 2K chips to start) with 5 people, no issues once we got a feel for the app, which is NO FRILLS. It moves quickly and doesn’t explain anything. But it works with friends, all I need and hard to find.We were also on Zoom so the cards were enough. Not perfect but better/cheaper/easier than everything else I’ve tried, as a replacement for our monthly game. It works for now, once you get used to it!
Developer ResponseAwesome man! Thanks for sharing your experience with others. Stay tuned for the great things to come!
This app is exactly what so many are looking for right now; the ability to easily setup a private poker game with your friends. We played with 5 of us while using FaceTime and didn’t experience some of the connectivity problems others did so it looks like the developers are working the bugs. It wasn’t perfect...there were some glitches and pauses in game play but overall the app performed it’s function with limited frustration.Hope you continue to invest in the app! Some notes:- We had 2 people with the same name and couldn’t go back to change name or add picture- You could try putting betting slider on a logarithmic scale...something that makes it less sensitive. It is difficult to make a marginal increase in the bet, esp if you have lots of chips.- All-in...we had our chips leader go all-in and someone with less chips called him. The chips leader lost the hand and was put out of the game. He should have been left in the game, only losing the chips owed to the other player.- Something appeared to be in sync with the randomized logic concerning the suit. We got a fully suited flop pretty regularly. Could have been chance I suppose...
Developer ResponseHi there Matt! Thank you so, so much for not only sharing your experience but taking the time to write suggestions. We're working day and night, seven days a week, to update and optimize the app. A lot of cool things to come - your ideas included. Take care buddy :)
Regularly have issues with people unable to join a room, with hands inexplicably ending before they are complete, and with players timing out due to “no network” even though they otherwise have a decent internet connection. I downloaded this game so I can get together with some buddies for a weekly virtual poker night. I do like how easy it is to get people playing, and we haven’t found a better alternative that focuses on easy group play with people you know. We typically play for about 90 minutes together with a group between 4-8. We haven’t made it through one evening without several of the glitches mentioned above. We found that ensuring everyone had the most up to date version of the app helps. Hopefully the glitches are being ironed out. Will update my review if that’s the case.
Developer ResponseHi Dave. Thanks for playing and for reporting issues.I can assure you that we're working hard to iron out any issue, and next time you experience some, please shoot me an email at ulrik@easy.poker with a short description and the game code. I'll do my utmost to help you.Hopefully, we can change this to a 5 star review soon 😊
A really good idea And good interface when it works right.Sometimes a new game won’t start and everyone has to back out and start a new table. After an ‘All in’ loss the rebuy notice doesn’t show up without re-syncing. The all-n or fold buttons stay on the screen after the hand is done.We worked through the issues above but had to stop after a major glitch. After I won a big (not all-in) hand it zeroed out my balance and asked me to rebuy. The rest of the players still showed my correct balance and their screen showed I was all in on a hand it never even dealt me. I understand some of the other glitches could be overloaded servers but that should never happen! You need to buy an upgrade subscription to adjust buy ins or blinds or allow rebuys so the free version isn’t very useful. The purchased upgrade didn’t show up on the same account on a different device. Paid for the upgrade and deleted the app the same night. :-(Enhancement suggestions:Sometimes it’s not clear when the hand so over or how it ended.Add an option for a player to sit out a few hands. Right now gameplay stops completely if a player doesn’t make a bet.
I paid for the premium version of this app in order to allow for more controls and more than four players. $5.99 I will never see again. Tonight I tried to play a game with four players and we were not once able to play more than two hands of poker without a member of the group showing up as “no network” and locking up all game play. Multiple reboots and reinstalls did not solve the problem. When we actually could get 4 players in a hand, the response times was so slow that it could take more than a minute for a players move to be registered in game. I’m not sure what they are using for game servers, but I expect the design involves a hamster and wheel. I have never seen an app fail so utterly to do exactly what it was designed to do. It was unplayable and it ruined an evenings entertainment.
Developer ResponseHi. Sorry to hear that, sounds like maybe one player had a bad connection. I'd love to look into the backlog of your game - do you happen to remember the game code? If so, please reach out to me at ulrik@easy.poker and I will get to the bottom of this to ensure the optimal experience going forward ☺️ Thanks!
