Invaluable app!!

I’ve owned this app for a couple years and I use it in the majority of the studying I do. This thing is so comprehensive that there is probably a way you can get it to generate the odds of you picking up Beyonce at the bar this weekend….All right, that was a terrible example. I can give you those odds. My point is that it gives you the ability to evaluate very specific odds in a vast amount of specific situations. I could easily write a 6000 character review describing all of the functions that are available within the app, but I suggest you just check it out. It is also worth bringing up that I have seen a couple reviews that mention a learning curve with this app. I found it surprisingly user-friendly. The learning curve isn’t with the software as much as it is with the content the software deals with. The shift from looking at specific hands to looking at entire ranges is challenging for everyone at first. This app makes that shift much easier. From my perspective the app itself was easy to use assuming you’re familiar with ranges and how they work. Lastly, I bumped into an issue when I bought a new computer and had to download the software on that machine. The customer service representative was patient and helpful as they helped me resolve my issue. I would recomend this app to anyone looking to improve their poker game.

Solid App - Learning curve but worth the investment
Namh bang
I just purchased the app yesterday and have been playing around with it for the day now. I have been looking for a Mac solution ( I tried flopzilla on a trial with Crossover - product that lets you run windows programs - and now that expired and i would have to go through paying for not only that $35 and crossover whatever that cost). Plus its complicated im not good with computers so i have to unistall a bunch of stuff etc. This is just out of the box. It is slightly less intuitive than Flopzilla but there is definitely some added functionality and the ability to calculate equities similar to poker stove which i couldn’t figure out on flopzilla. Definitely a slight learning curve but nothing a few hours messing shouldnt get you through. Everything works great and I believe there are tutorials in the interface (I haven’t tried it just keeps prompting me to use them) The point (if you take the time to learn how to use this, do a little research from good sources on why you use this tool and how) you will make back the money on the table. certainly without a doubt worth $40 and competitively priced with similar products. I used flopzilla before this so I had a little bit of an understanding what I was looking at so slight disclaimer if you are completely new to these products be patient and watch some tutorials on how and why to use these things before you get discouraged.
Excellent Application

This new massive update to this app is awesome. I've had the app for 6 months and it's really helpful for study and post hand analysis. There is a learning curve for sure, but once you get comfortable with it, it's worth it. Still can't get over the improvements on this new version! Very nice work developers! One request though; either an in-house staff person or a pro you trust needs to do some you tube tutorials on the original and new features of the software. If you're Mac person like me, this is what you need for Hold'em range and hand analysis.

Thanks for the great review! Yes this last app update is massive (e.g. the color-coded groups in hand ranges feature); we worked on it for months.Re. tutorial videos - good suggestion; we will see what we can do here. Just fyi even currently there are some videos on PokerCruncher on YouTube, created by some pros/coaches who use this program. We have added links to these videos at the top of our website's Tutorials & Videos page. For example there's a 42-min. tutorial video, and a couple of other shorter videos, that cover the main ideas/strategies. But your suggestion is right on, because the current videos don't cover all of the features especially the newer features. Covering all of the features well would be a big production effort; we will see what we can do here. Thanks, -RJ/PokerCruncher, LLC
Amazing App

I have owned this app for a while now. I love it and use it for studying as well as my cool downs I do when I am done with my sessions. I am exploring more and more and wish I had took the time to really play and learn it. The only thing I am having a problem with is the size of the window it comes out on. Its always at the large size. Even when I want to Max size it. The window goes to the size of the screen but the app itself stays at the large size. So there is all this empty area on the sides of it. It won't make it bigger to go with the max size. Other then that I use it almost everyday and love it.
Developer Response
Hello, thanks for your great review.Re. the max-size window setting, this is as designed and I'll explain why. Under the max-size window setting, note that the views of this app do spread themselves out a little farther apart (more than the large-size setting). But you're right the views don't spread themselves out all the way to the top/bottom/left/right edges of the screen to use up the entire screen. The reason why is that if we did this, the UI and views would look weird being spread out very far apart and very sparse with tons of empty whitespace inbetween. And this would actually make it harder to use this program, because our eyes would have to travel a large distance horizontally and vertically to see and digest everything. So keeping the views compactly laid out is better. This gets into UI and app design. There are two kinds of apps, 1) unlimited-content, and 2) fixed-content. 1) Examples of unlimited-content apps are email programs (can have an unlimited number of emails), text editors, drawing programs, browsers, etc. In these types of programs making the app's window truly max-size is of big benefit because then you can see and work with more content.2) But for fixed-content apps, making the app's views spread out all the way to the edges of the screen doesn't give any benefit. PokerCruncher is fixed-content, e.g. you can have at most 10 players, the range grid is max 13x13, etc. If we could enter 100+ or 200+ etc. players, or the range grid could be arbitrarily large, then definitely the max-size window setting should make the UI extend to the extreme edges of the screen. But that's not the case with PokerCruncher, it's a fixed-content app.Another example of a fixed-content app is Apple's own Calculator app. Check out this app; note that you can't even make its window max-size (the window's green + button). It wouldn't make sense for this app to fill up the entire screen, it would look weird, so Apple doesn't max-size this app. We feel we are in good company here on this design decision we made in PokerCruncher. Thanks for your review and your thoughtful question. And for using this program.Regards, -RJ/PokerCruncher, LLC
Small UI fixes and layout improvements for macOS Tahoe. And an Apple Silicon app build (finally :)).
1) Fix some UI glitches and small UI layout problems on macOS Tahoe, while ensuring the UI remains clean on older macOS’s.
2) Update the app’s icon for macOS Tahoe (use rounded corners).
3) Create a universal app build; this app now runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Mac’s. As a result, calculation now runs about 40% faster on Apple Silicon Mac’s.
4) Make the app’s license validation check more robust and less error prone.
=== Previous Update Version 17.2.1 ===
* Fix an “App license validation failed” error that some customers are getting on app launch after updating to macOS 15.4.
Thanks for your latest app reviews. If you like PokerCruncher and our continuing work, please consider writing an App Store review, thanks!
