Ratings and Reviews
Not Worthy of an Earmark
First, the good — PoliticoPro finally has an app and it offers pushed news alerts (I haven’t decided if these are timely yet or not).
Reality check — Articles automatically appear with no option to choose a particular subject; no document drawer; and no directory!
If there was a priority for a mobile app built for political professionals it would first be for the best, most up-to-date contacts of Inside-the-Beltway types, some call them Politicos... Ahem...
The second priority for Politicos is access to the latest and greatest information. Notice that I said “access.” This app chooses what you see with a scrolling thread that looses the attention of the typical multi-tasking, ADHD politico.
Earmark worthy? NO. This app lacks innovation, information, access and is guaranteed to be a poor return on investment.
**FWIW, this was my first app review ever. Politico, come on — I beg of you — get your app together. You won’t regret it.
No rotate for iPad?
Issue isn’t with the content, but the usability. The app only supports portrait mode, which is fine for the iPhone. But why doesn’t the iPad version support rotating into landscape orientation? If the app isn’t designed to be compatible with the iPad, the developer should designate it as iPhone only and save iPad users the headache of having to deal with this significant shortcoming.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
