Adding plants is much faster now. Search once, tap everything you want, and save the whole batch together. If you already have a list written down, you can paste it in. Fixed a bug where signing in could show an empty garden even though your plants were there. Explore has two new type filters, Fern and Succulent. The printable plan sheets and the HOA letter now explain phasing, so the plant counts on them line up with what you see in the app. The plan card you share also prices the planting correctly. It was reading your species count instead of your plant count. Report a Problem in the Account tab now actually reaches us. It went nowhere before if you had crash reports turned off.

Lawn care is here. Add your lawn like any other plant and get organic care timing for your region, starting with Texas. Not sure what grass you have? Answer three questions or snap a close-up. Every action now gets a response. When a save, delete, or load fails, you'll see a plain-English message and a way to try again instead of silence. Garden Planner: trace your bed on the satellite map on iPhone, site plans fill the bed edge to edge, and butterflies your yard can't host are marked honestly. Sign-in got clearer error messages and a password reset right where you need it. If your confirmation email never arrived, you can resend it now. Also: adding a plant we don't recognize is one tap, a pasted plant list is recognized on the add-plant screen, iPad layouts are fixed, and a few dozen smaller fixes.

Your Home screen now opens with a short daily brief: the date, what your garden needs today, and anything the weather is about to do about it. Plant ID got more honest. Pl@ntNet now leads the identification, and when one photo isn't enough to be sure, the app asks for a second instead of guessing. You can add up to five photos to a single scan. When we suggest a native alternative, you get three purposeful swaps rather than a generic list. Fixed: HEIC photos from the iPhone camera no longer dead-end when you pick them from your library. If you have notifications turned off, your care reminders now reach you by email instead of quietly going nowhere. You can manage all of it from inside the app, and every email has a one-tap unsubscribe. Explore has a size filter and shows mature height on each plant card, and the Containers filter works everywhere now. Plus a lot better VoiceOver support, real plant photos in free plan sheets and the bloom calendar, and two new rebate programs: Gilbert, Arizona and Seattle RainWise.

Add a whole garden's worth of photos in one go. Pick many from your camera roll, assign each one to a plant, and pick up where you left off if you close the app partway. Your garden now has a history. See waterings, notes, photos and problem checks in one feed, with a Lately strip on Home. Fixed a subscribe button that did nothing when you were signed out. Signing up now happens right on the pricing screen. Pet safety is more accurate. Corrected toxicity for dozens of plants, fixed a filter that could let a plant through when it had never been checked for your pet, and every claim now shows its source. Plant photos show up where they were blank before, across your garden, care lists and starter sheets. Setup explains itself. The Continue button now tells you what it needs, and the step counter no longer moves the finish line while you are working. Problem help now covers plants in pots, and includes one free check a month. Save butterflies and bees straight from their pages. Fixed content sitting under the tab bar on eleven screens, and stopped the app asking again about plants you had already watered.

Care for every plant you own. Add the plants already growing in your yard, native or not, and get seasonal guidance matched to your region. Watering reminders now account for rain. If the sky already did the job, we tell you to skip it. Freeze alerts tell you what to cover before a cold night and when to uncover in the morning. Plus small fixes to keep everything running smoothly.

The Tools tab is gone. Everything that lived there, including Patch Vision, plant ID, and nurseries, now sits on the Plan tab, one tap from your plans. Plant search finds what you actually type. Misspell "Bergamont" or search a garden center tag name like "Knockout Rose" and you'll get the right plant instead of nothing. Seasonal care is no longer capped at three plants. Every plant in your garden gets its seasonal guidance. You can add plants you already own, even the ones that aren't native, and get care for them. The Garden Planner writes an HOA approval letter, exports a one-pager and a full project packet, and previews your yard in seven design styles. Your sign-in is now stored in the device Keychain.

New start screen. However you begin, you end up looking at a picture of your own yard instead of filling out a form. Garden Planner 3.0 is here. Answer a few questions and get a full site plan you can print. The old planner is still there if you prefer it. Fixed a bad one. Signing in on a second device could wipe your saved location and favorites. It doesn't anymore. Gardens outside Texas were quietly picking up Texas plants in a few spots. That's fixed. Care reminders are opt-in now, and the timing follows your region instead of a generic calendar. The analytics switch in Account actually turns everything off now. It used to leave part of the tracking running. Added Iowa to the state list. It was missing. Plus a new launch screen, clearer pet-safety filters across the planner and Patch Vision, and the Terms links moved above the button on sign-up.

If you garden outside Texas, this one's for you. Plant lists, bloom timing, butterfly host plants, and your saved garden now all use plants that actually grow where you live. A few screens used to quietly fall back to Texas. The app asks where you garden instead of guessing, and beginner plant picks cover all 50 states. You can try a garden design before making an account. Free accounts get 2 designs a day. Starter gardens show real plant counts, an HOA-friendly filter, and hand off straight to the planner. Care guides on your saved plants use timing for your region. Fixed the keyboard covering text boxes, a back button that overlapped some titles, and sharper site plans.

The 5-day forecast now lives right on your Home screen, with little rain and freeze animations so you can see what's coming for your yard. Fixed some hard-to-read orange text and badges so everything meets accessibility contrast standards. Cleaned up the Ask Patch info panel and made it easier to send feedback. Polished the Plants, Plan, and Garden tabs with photo thumbnails and a calmer layout. Small fixes: GPS users now get accurate local weather, and a few paywall screens got a "Maybe later" option.

Plants now show whether deer tend to leave them alone, and the garden planner takes that into account when it picks plants for your yard. Fixed plant recommendations for Southern California ZIP codes. They were pulling from the wrong region. Patch Vision no longer reports a failed rendering when you switch apps partway through. It finishes in the background and tells you when it's done. The permission prompt before a rendering now asks once instead of every single time. Pruning reminders now go out beyond Texas. Fixed a formal-style plan that could leave a tree out of the drawing on wide, shallow beds.

Cleaned up the first-time walkthrough. The Patch Vision preview now lets you drag to compare a yard before and after, and the "already grow this" and "find your rebate" starting points are easier to spot. Your rebate and species totals now count up as they load on the savings card. A few small layout and polish fixes across the plan and rebate finder screens.

Fixed duplicate notifications. If the same watering reminder or freeze alert was arriving two or three times, this update stops the repeats. One push per event from now on. Watering tasks now live in one spot on the Care screen, under the Tasks tab. The Patch Score card is now labeled, with a tap-for-info tooltip explaining what the score means. Fixed the tab bar highlighting the wrong tab when you first opened the app.

Patch Vision is a lot more reliable in this update. If you ever tried to render your yard and hit a "not signed in" error, got a design that came back empty, or saw a render stall on "0 plants," those are all fixed now. Renders work whether or not you're signed in yet, and they hold up in areas with a shorter native plant list. We also cleaned up the Explore screen. Search comes first, and the full plant list is right where you'd look for it. Plant cards now show the scientific name under the common name, so you know exactly which species you're looking at. The "Pick up where you left off" card is collapsible now, so your project doesn't crowd the top of the screen. Plus a handful of small layout and copy fixes.

This update focuses on speed, stability, and polish. Patch Vision now covers more regions, including Washington DC and areas with limited plant data, and picks smarter water-use defaults for your location. My Garden reminds you before a saved plan expires, and keeps your plans automatically with Pro. Faster Ask Patch answers and quicker-loading screens throughout the app. Refined typography and design across the core screens. Fixed a launch crash and various smaller bugs.

Pollinator Patch just went nationwide. You can now find native plants for your yard in any US state. This is also our biggest feature update yet: Patch Vision: take a photo of your front yard and see it reimagined with HOA-friendly native plants. Plant ID: point your camera at any plant to identify it and find out if it's native where you live. Garden Inspiration: browse native garden designs from other yards and save the ones you love. Plus a bunch of smaller fixes to make everything load faster.

Pollinator Patch now works across the United States. Enter any US ZIP and get native plants, native bees, and butterflies for your ecoregion, not just your state. Plant matching uses EPA Level 3 ecoregion boundaries derived from GBIF herbarium records, so recommendations stay accurate even when you live near a state border. What's new: - Nationwide plant coverage. States resolve to the right ecoregion and surface the plants native to that region. - 1,255 plants are now flagged "Available to buy" with sourcing from named nurseries (up from 1,177 last release). 16 new nurseries added, including regional flagships in the Mountain West and Midwest. - Faster plant photos. Plant images now stream from cloud storage instead of loading from the app bundle. The app installs smaller and lists scroll faster. - Photoless species sort to the bottom of every list so you see the most useful results first. - Ask Patch now cites the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center on every toxicity question and includes the 24/7 hotline number (888-426-4435) when relevant. - 7-day free trial on Pro. California is now fully supported. Enter a California ZIP to browse 154 native plants, 50 native bees, and 50 butterflies specific to your state, with nursery availability sourced from Annie's Annuals and regional nurseries. Texas users get the same depth across all 8 ecoregions, plus toxicity information for dogs and cats from the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center. Ask Patch also has a new "How it works" button that explains what the tool does and connects you to local expert organizations: NPSOT chapters in Texas, CNPS chapters in California. If your ZIP is outside a supported state, a small banner lets you know what to expect. New users now get a starter question after setting up their first garden zone, so there is a clear place to begin.

Bug fixes!

Fixed a bug where the Tools tab wasn't showing up after a fresh install. It's back. Cleaned up the intro walkthrough based on early user feedback. When you finish setup, you now pick where to go — browse plants, check your garden, or open the tools. Much less confusing. The plant browse screen got wider cards that scroll horizontally, so you can scan more plants without scrolling down as much. Added a section on the Account tab where you can vote on upcoming features and tell us what you want to see next. A few other small layout and navigation fixes throughout.
