So, So Much More Than A “Metronome

I am guitarist who encounters/plays some complex “fingerstyle” rhythms (bass and treble clefs that employ different rhythm patterns in the same measures). By permitting me to enter the values of notes in the bass and treble clefs in separate beat lines (essentially like using parallel metronomes) Polynome has transformed the way I analyze and practice a new piece of music. It is simply amazing and I can’t believe I’m only discovering it now!!! I’ve read a couple of the reviews that say it’s over complicated—I am 70 years old, have owne the app for one hour, and I have already transcribed approximately 20 pretty complex measures into a new preset. The complexity derived from the seemingly endless variety of options. It is mind-blowingly amazing. I’m looking a. $150 Boss Dr. Beat metronome I have connected to my mixer and thinking, “Reverb!!” I can, without any reservation say that this is the best app I EVER purchased and/or subscribed to. I enthusiastically encourage anyone who wants to improve his/her rhythm (and who doesn’t?) to take give this app a try. Yes, it does take a few minutes to get under your fingers, but then it’s pretty darn intuitive. I simply can’t rave enough about it. So I will stop. Best of luck in your pursuit of the right beats for you!!

Paradigm Shifting Metronome & Metronomic Learning Tool

This app will change your life. On any instrument, it is the perfect companion and there’s no metronome that even comes close. It has any choice of sounds, subdivision overlay faders, two separate rhythm entries plus with two Lines each that can reflect the selected sticking from multiple sounds in each limb, polyrhtmic and counting full screen visuals, online public community library of presets and playlists, playlists that cycle presets and sub presets, setlists, the list goes on, on. The bottom line is if you’re in anyway interested in the world of rhythm, this app is worth every cent. We have a lot to be grateful for from drummer Joe Crabtree, it’s sole developer. Have a new idea or an issue with the app? He’ll hear you out and address it. This app is almost perfect as is, albeit with a relative learning curve that pays dividends (aided by joe’s vast video tutorials linked within the app and beyond). This app will only continue to grow in scope and sweetened layout ergonomics. With this tool, our learning is only limited by our imagination and discipline. Thanks Joe.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for the kind words and glowing review. PolyNome really is my baby, and I’m constantly working to add new features and fine tune the existing ones. I’m so pleased that you’re making good use of it.
Best,
Joe

If you're reading the reviews

Just get the app already. It is quite nice, really. If you just need a basic metronome, it does that. If you want something more, it does that too. Very well. It's had a considerable amount of forethought put into every aspect. From ease of user interface for nubes to intricately involved options for the advanced time-keeping applications. I took all of my old metronome apps off of my new iPhone and installed them on my old iPhone and shot it with my .38 then destroyed what was left of it with hydrochloric acid. As should you. This is the most well maintained, constantly updated, content rich application in the history (and more than likely, the future) of the  app store. It surely is in the Gueniss Book of World Records. Or it should be. When the cyborgenic aliens finally DO annihilate us, this is the one singular human thing they’ll find worthy of not destroying. That’s assuming they don’t chance upon Heroin first, which destroys everything.
