Well worth the two bucks

This is app provides a great convenience that should be part of OS X. I know there’s a preferenece setting to add the date to the display of the OS X Date and Time feature, but doing so takes up too much menu bar space. This app shows me the current date in its icon for reference at a glance, without eating up menu bar real estate and without having to click to see it. popCalendar integrates with the OS X Calendar app, which lets it highlight days with appointments or events set. Click any day in popCalendar, and a list of that day’s events slides open. If you have multiple e-mail and calendar accounts, there is a preference setting that lets you select which accounts to show events for.

I have incremented my rating from four stars to five. My former complaints have been resolved over time. Bravo.

Great alternative to Fantastical

I used to use Fantastical — and paid for it in 2014 — but when I upgraded to a new computer, that version was no longer supported. I really didn’t care for the features of the new version, I just wanted something that would give me my day’s schedule at a glance from the taskbar. Popupcal is great for that. You can also easily add new events to your calendar from the popup.

Very Handy And Worth The Money

I’ve tried this, ItsyCal, and Insta-Cal and popCalendar is by far the best peforming out of them all. The only request I’d like to have is the ability to toggle between light/dark themes instead of only being able to use the system theme. Even better would be full color control. Font size control, especially for the event list view would also be appreciated (especially on Retina MacBook Pros). Other than that, no complaints.
