PopClip appears when you select text with your mouse on your Mac. Instantly access context-specific actions including copy and paste, plus extensions like Send to Evernote. If you select text containing a URL, email address or file path, PopClip can open it. Select a misspelled word, and PopClip offers corrections. Select any text to do a web search with those terms, or select a single word to get the dictionary definition.
More than 100 free extensions are available, including Paste and Match Style, Translate, Send to Evernote, Word Count, Capitalize and much, much more. See http://pilotmoon.com/popclip/extensions.
Please note: PopClip works in most Mac apps, but not in all. For an up-to-date list of known incompatible apps, see http://pilotmoon.com/popclip/apps

- PopClip is now a Universal app, for both Intel and Apple Silicon / M1 chip.
- PopClip can now request Reminders access on behalf of extensions. This allows for a new Reminders extension.
- Fix: Appearing when double-clicking on videos, etc. in web pages.
- Fix: Not appearing when selecting italic text in Microsoft Word.
- Fix (on Big Sur): Prefs menu not appearing, or appearing in the wrong place, when PopClip's menu bar icon is hidden.
- Fix (on Sierra and High Sierra): Graphical glitches in PopClip prefs.
- Improved compatibility with Evernote 10. (Please note: the Evernote PopClip extension still does not work with Evernote 10, due to Evernote 10 not supporting AppleScript.)

Excellent SW that Smooths the Workflow
I’ve been using this utility for a couple years and I don’t setup a new Mac without it. PopClip’s broad list of extensions has everything you could want to do to strings of text or URLs in any document. In fact, it’s extendability may be a weakness because if you add all the possibilities you’ll end with a very long list of options displaying when you highlight a string. Choose wisely!
Of particular value to me is the extension that converts ALL CAPS to lower case (for folks like me: sloppy typers who inadvertently hit caps lock). The extensions to send strings to apps and are great for searching, collecting and defining terms with minimal fuss.
Here’s $10 well spent on a utility that waits quietly to make your life easier. Thanks to Pilotmoon for this very useful piece of software.
Best (and most used) app I own…when it works! Needs an update
Best (and most used) app I own…when it works! It needs an update because it now works only when it wants to, which as of late is about half the time. That’s probably a generous estimate too. I do absolutely love this app though!!! It is just one of those apps that when youuse it, you rely on it to always be working. Maybe there is something on my end that is preventing it fro working all the time, but I have know way of knowing if that is the case or how to fix it if so. Definitely a 5 star app when working properly!!!
An essential part of my everyday activity.
After ~5 years of use, I still use this dozens of times every day. Apple has built some of the behavior into the OS, but PopClip has far more services available, and allows you to select which ones you want.
When I got this, it was about $5. When I wrote my first review, $10. Now I see it is $13, and still worth it. Get it soon, before the next increase!
PS. Developer is quite responsive. He adds/updates for new versions of applications including Scrivener, EagleFiler, DevonThink, Evernote, Drafts, BusyCal, Google Scholar search.
