Best poster or collage making software

V6 update: Can’t believe it keeps getting easier and more intuitive. Just made a poster of 35 images by droping them into the Tiles template — the tiling was perfect first time — no tweaks needed!Comment of 2023: This app keeps getting better, and is now by far the best poster maker. It enables you to easily and intuitively set poster size, dpi, photo borders and poster margins. It automagically makes an attractive tiled poster of any number of images, and supports sorting the photos in a variety of ways, including by filename, so you can establish whatever sequence you want in your photo management software (like Lightroom) and maintain that sequence in Posterino. This is very important in large posters with hundreds of photos. Finally, it is very easy and intuitive to pan/zoom individual photos within the Posterino defined frames. I've done many posters as gifts for friends and family over the last 18 years using several applications. I recently made a poster image for printing on a 50x60 inch blanket which my mother loved! The poster making experience was a true delight and I was able to make a great poster quickly, beating the midnight deadline for 50% off of the blanket!

I’ve been enjoying making posters with Posterino for several years now. Always with wonderful output.I’m an experienced user of Photoshop and Lightroom, and while it is possible to create posters using those programs, the ease of use and rich and easy formatting options are far superior in Posterino. And even better, the developer is quite active with improvements and fixes, both large and small. He’s always planning for the next macOS release so there’s no loss of function with new OS requirements. Truly, this is a program I really enjoy, both for small prints and large posters. My last project was making posters for my late brother’s celebration of life—I made seven 20x24 posters with about 150 images. Everyone was so happy to be able to see so many images of him so nicely presented.

Much better than online alternatives

I had versions 1 and 2 of this app and loved them. This latest version is very good and has great features for quickly building posters. The Automatica methods work well, but for greater control the manual method works very well and still includes helpful snap-to features to ensure good alignment. There is a bit of instability—the program crashed on me and required periodic force-quitting, but recovered well. Be sure to save your work regularly. I never lost any work due to crashing, but never crashed with an unsaved document.Many actions would also not reverse with Undo.I would also like to see a few more advanced features and refinements such as being able to group items and lock items or groups to prevent accidental selection and movement. An alignment feature for a selection of objects would also be helpful. I could list more, but don’t want to detract from that fact that this app is very useful and capable. If you like to make posters to print at Walgreens or Shutterfly, this app is much faster and easier to use than the built-in tools on those sites. Just build your poster, export it to JPEG and upload to your favorite photo site and print. I’ve not yeet Made extensive use of the text setting tools, but what I did use was very straight forward and more flexible than online tools, too.I don’t like subscriptions models, generally, and I don’t think most people would find value in the subscription, but the lifetime purchase option is a good value, as was the upgrade option I was offered.

A fun but powerful program

I have been using Posterino to create some posters for Xmas presents for this year and it has stimulated a lot of idea for things I can do with it. I use it mostly for printing larger posters (think 11 x 14/17) for display, but just looking at the different options gives me even more ideas. I like that it is customizable and flexible. I can use it and let the program move things around or I can explicitly place certain photos in certain places for emphasis. The developer is very responsive and is always trying to make a good product even better. Thanks!
