I really like this app a lot. It is good for logging things and seeing a graph of your weekly practice schedule. However, I am really frustrated that there hasn’t been a recent update. This app is consistently glitchy and starting today my timer did a weird thing where it was tracking my minutes and when I turned it off to move to a different task it deleted the 20 minutes and said I didn’t practice. Please put out an update to fix these problems.
I play classical guitar for approximately 12 years. I’ve been using the iOS app MusicJournal. The developer decided not to support iOS 11 update, so far. I have downloaded a dozen of the other app practice journals for the iPhone seeking a replacement. None of these fit into the flexibility that the MusicJournal app fulfilled.
This application Praxis come closest to meeting my requirements. It has a straightforward user interface. It is clean and logically arranged and is easy to navigate. Edits and updates are relatively painless. It is lacking the ability to enter any type of practice notes or manually add time to a closed session. There seems to be a minor bug auto syncing to the iCloud server. The app has a tendency to freeze up. The workaround is only to sync manually. With these 3 limitations I really like this app and would give it five stars if fixed and updated.
Update: found notes area. App has ability to add missed sessions. Nice
I am always striving to get my practice sessions more structured. That's why I bought this app. There is however one key element missing, which is the ability to creat a real schedule. It lets you designate a certain amount of time for a specified time period, but you can't attach a specified time of the day to it. Also, since it is called a journal, it would be nice if it would let me attach photos to a note (for example a picture of the scale I wanna work on). And there is so much more missing here, I don't have the time to get into it. Bottom line, this app is way too expensive for the few things it can do for me. As of now, I won't use it.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
