  • Perfect until 3.3.11 update

    Charmed59

I’ve been using Privacy for maybe 3 yrs now. Love it and all the features that not only keep my funds safe but also gives me the snapshot I need of my spending habits. Since the update to 3.3.11, the transactions list isn’t showing the statuses like it used to on the right side. Where’s the “Pending”, “Settling”, and “Settled” statuses? I now have to make a few extra clicks: first on the card, then scroll down to the transaction and click on that to see the status. My viewpoint is the devs broke something. Some cards I prefer to put on Pause once a charge is settled which was so easy to see for the past 3 yrs until the 3.3.11 update. I hope you fix this. Please.

  • A must have

This app is has to be one of the most essential financial apps on my phone. I use a Privacy card for every internet transaction I do. Especially for this that have a subscription or reoccurring charge. This app gives you full control of those. You can chose if or when you want to be charged. No more surprise charges because you forgot to cancel a trial. They even do charge backs and disputes. I love how each card is locked to a merchant. I have had fraud attempts several times. These cards saved me. I’ll always use these cards.

  • Harvesting Biometric Data Disguised by “Privacy”

    Infoseek2025

Don’t be fooled by the app’s name. Privacy app claims to protect user privacy while systematically harvesting sensitive biometric information under misleading premises This is NOT privacy. Read the terms and conditions. They demand from users to take selfies, upload photos of their IDs front & back, your SSN, then wait for a “verification review” Similar to companies that have a recorded message that says “Your call is important for us, please hold” while being on hold for 30 mins, then they hang up on you. My account was verified and good to go. No, you must connect your bank account thru Plaid, or use an “approved” debit card. Good luck finding one. After all that, you attempt to use one of their virtual cards for a simple transaction, it will either be declined, or you must wait for days to process. Requesting account deletion via email is a straightforward process, but Privacy has to make it impossible to do so. After I sent them an email to request deletion of my account 3 weeks ago, I still haven’t heard back from their nonexistent support.

  • Excellent protection

This app allows you to easily create virtual credit cards linked to your bank account for online payments. It offers the standard credit card protections for disputing charges. It lets you create individual cards for separate online accounts. You can create a card for a single use, or for multiple withdrawals (e.g., to pay recurring monthly bills) while placing a limit on how much can be withdrawn on a per-withdrawal basis or as a whole. You can also pause a card or close it from your phone with a simple tap. These settings can be easily modified. These features have protected me from double billings, from attempts to make a withdrawal after a trial period ended where I had declined to make a full purchase, and from companies that tried to auto-renew when I had not given that authorization. There’s an upgrade that will hide the vendor, which is good to have available. There’s also a categories upgrade I haven’t tried. Great app that gives me peace of mind, gives me control, and keeps improving.

  • Fantastic

I’ve been using privacy for over three years now. Started as a free user then moved to premium as I switched all my bills to it. I use the service for all online payments now. I used to get hit by fraud a few times per year and it’s an annoying process to go through. Now I’ve dropped to one fraud in 3 years. Privacy has caught multiple fraudulent attempts and stopped them cold. Since cards lock to merchants I don’t even need to kill a compromised card. It’s even fun to watch the scammers try to use it and fail! The app works amazingly well and it’s easy to use . I like how it tracks transactions per card so you can see how much you are spending. I’d like to see some more reporting capabilities in the future is my only suggestion. Like spit out reports of how much spend per card per month/year/custom. The cash back with premium pays for the fee and even some extra cash which never hurts. Customer service was great too the one time I used them. I recommend it to all my friends. Thank you for a great service Privacy!

  • Stellar service, subpar app

    gplatko

Privacy is an absolutely fantastic service that I use religiously to manage my service subscriptions and send anonymous donations. I use its burner card feature to ensure I don't get charged for forgetting about my free trials. Everyone should use it, it's a no-brainer.Compared to their web interface, I've noticed occasional interface hiccups when trying to change card details in the past - popups not respecting the keyboard, the interface not updating after I change the spend limit on a card, small stuff like that. Part of this is undoubtedly caused by my old SE being a bit of a design edge-case, but the service's design is excellent and these issues are all that's holding it back from being a perfect example of how to bring a service from web to iOS.I'll continue using Privacy as long as I can either way, it's absolutely fantastic. Hopefully as time goes on, the app's stability will improve and the experience will get even better.
