When you enable Cloud Vault backup in the app, you are required to provide a Cloud Vault Password. Your Cloud Vault Password is never backed up to our servers and used as a secret value that only you know to encrypt/decrypt your files. This means we have NO ability to view your photos. This also means that if you forget your Cloud Vault Password, you will also not be able to view your Cloud Vault data. Please write it down.

I was using the Video Safe 2 app which was good for many years until it wasn’t. I saw this app had the most reviews and they were positive. I think this company is based out of Las Vegas. The features are great and the app works great. I exported the photo via usb from old app and transfered photos via a usb to lightning cable to my iPhone. It worked great. There are some really great features like if you put the phone screen down you can have it automatically open the music app for example. There is a decoy so you can put another passcode to unlock to a decoy with some photos that aren’t private. This app has a yearly charge but I think it’s worth it so the developer of this app will keep working on it for years to come and improve it. Oh and I saw this app has been around since 2011 which is good. You want to go with an app that will be around for a long time. Next I would like there to be a disguise for the app like if I open it then it appears to be a calculator etc. I think i read they are working on that.

Only vault app I’ll ever use

I never review apps but lemme tell you, once I learned it imports the Live Photos, where you
Literally hold down on the photos and it reacts like it should be (because other apps fail to accomplish this) , I had to come and immediately review this app. You can import thousands of views and pictures all at once and I believe before they released even more premium features I paid for the lifetime premium features. So I’m grandfathered in. That’s how long I’ve had this app. I’m writing this review at 5:49am on may 8th 2023. Such a good app. Not to mention they have a “cloud” as well. Basically. So all of your data is stored within your iCloud backup through the app too if that makes sense. Idk. It’s weird.

I hate the new version of the app

The previous version of this app was very stable between updates and I’ve been able to add and edit large numbers of photos without problems on my Ipad ever since I bought the pro version nearly 3 years ago. Well lo and behold my Ipad somehow turned on auto update in the App Store without my express permission and installs this train wreck of an app. I am unable to move pictures around in my albums without the app crashing and not saving my changes. Also when I scroll through an album random thumbnails will turn white and I have to scroll up or down on the screen to restore the thumbnail images. Restarting my Ipad does nothing to resolve the issues and reinstalling the app is completely unreasonable due to the amount of pictures I’d have to back up somewhere and reinstall. I also am not a fan of the edit toolbar changes. It isn’t as intuitive as the last version. The crop tool in particular is very buggy and the image keeps moving around on my screen when I try to adjust what I want to crop. This is very disappointing because I used this app extensively and there aren’t really any better alternatives on the App Store. I hope someone is actually reading these reviews (although I seriously doubt it) and gets to work on repairing this “update”. Otherwise I think I’m done using this app for good.
