ProctorExam 4+

I used this for a civil service exam at the request of my HR department. I tried installing this on three apple devices before I was able to pass the necessary security tests, only to have the entire app stop working in the middle of my exam. After fifteen minutes trying to refresh the exam page I called the customer service number, believing this to be recorded, (customer service contact info is not visible on the exam tab so I had to go back to the original security test tab) and was told that there was a system-wide outage and to wait a few minutes and re-enter my exam. I did that, but now it’s a few weeks later and the HR department contacted me and said that they were removing me from the recruitment for suspected cheating by being on an external browser tab (the tab I needed to look at the get the customer service number) and speaking to someone else during the exam (ProctorExam’s customer service agent). At the VERY LEAST ProctorExam could have informed my HR department that there was an error imduring my exam on their end, but now my livelihood is in jeopardy because my HR department thinks I cheated on the exam. Thank you ever so much, ProctorExam.

This software does not work reliably. Even if can get it to work once, it most likely won’t the second time. Tech support is a chat person that sends you links and does not screen share or walk you through actual solutions. First time I used this I couldn’t take the test at all and my online course wanted to charge me for rescheduling. Second time I went to take the test, I spent 30 minutes troubleshooting the software and 20 minutes on the test, stressed out from the awful experience of trying to get this to work. I will never take an online course again that uses this software. There is truly no point as it’s quite possible you will never get to the point of actually taking the test due to errors with the software.

I am not the type of person who normally reviews apps but I have to say that this is probably the worst experience I have ever had with technology. I was supposed to use proctor exam to take a test remotely and spent over an hour trying to set up the system and was unsuccessful. Something about the phone and computer connection simply did not work. The support is completely automated and just tells you to restart your device over and over. This software turned what should have been a low stress exam into an absolute nightmare. If you are a test provider considering using this software, please stay away!!!
