Asthma and COPD don't have to hold you back. Breathe easier and move your life forward with Propeller.

Propeller is a (US-based) FDA-cleared, CE-marked technology that works with existing asthma and COPD inhalers to help people understand their symptoms and gain control. We've created small sensors that simply clip onto your current inhalers. The sensors determine when you use your inhalers and send this information to the Propeller app. The Propeller app generates personalised insights and reminders to keep you on track. Propeller users experience more symptom-free days and up to 79% fewer asthma attacks.

Propeller uses HealthKit to export your inhaler usage data into the Health app and to read activity data.

Use Propeller to:
+ Automatically record when and where you take your inhaler so you can identify triggers and track your symptoms
+ Customise a schedule for controller medications to help you remember to take your medication on time
+ See personalised patterns, trends and tips for your asthma and COPD
+ Rate your asthma or COPD control over the last month with the Asthma Control Test (ACT) or the COPD Assessment Test (CAT)
+ See your adherence timeline
+ Check your Daily Asthma Forecast, including pollutant, humidity and temperature details
+ Track a loved one's inhaler use, trigger and symptoms
+ Share asthma and COPD progress with your doctors

Continued use of GPS in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Background GPS is not required to use Propeller.

Almost amazing

I downloaded this after my son was diagnosed with asthma. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and this ended up being a great resource to help his dad and I keep track of his inhalers, and help us communicate better with his doctors. There are only two things that I think could be improved:
1) I have never been able to complete the ACT. Every time I finish it, it just gives me the spinning loading symbol. If I try going to another screen and going back, it tells me to hit continue to finish, but still just gives me the loading symbol.
2) I wish you could differentiate between morning and even doses. Right now my son is doing two puffs at night and one in the morning. Unfortunately it only gives the option for the same dose at different times of day.
If these two issues were fixed, I wouldn’t have a single complaint, I absolutely love this app, it makes life so much easier.
Thank you!!!

Wow, this has been a lifesaver product!

I never write reviews, but this app was SO GOOD I had to share my experience with everyone. This is a super sleek, well-executed health tracker to help people with asthma. I was recently diagnosed with asthma about a week ago. I struggled with the symptoms for multiple years. I finally got the correct diagnosis but I never could pinpoint what was causing the issues. While looking for air quality apps, I saw this app and thought I would give it a try. I saw I could get a free tracker to go with my rescue inhaler. It was super quick shipping and FREE 🥳 I’ve used it with the app over the past week and within a few days I had tons of data on symptoms and usage— I finally now know my triggers. As an Engineer, I was happy to see this app does *truly does* trending and analysis. You can access cool reports on usage and reliable forecasts. App Devs, you’re really contributing to making lives of people better. ❤️ Thank you and well done.

Enjoy it

I really enjoy this app- as I only need my rescue inhaler a few times a month. I do, however, have some suggestions for improvement. I tend to need it most when I forget to take my daily asthma medication. I wish it had an option to select “missed medication” as a reason for using my inhaler. I also sometimes need it with exercise.

My other suggestion: one of my favorite parts of the app is the daily asthma forecast. However it only randomly shows up. I wish this would be a permanent part of the app because I can’t find it when I want it.

Hi Jen, Thank you for your suggestions! I will add your idea for the new trigger of missing your medication to the list of new triggers being considered. Good news, we do have a way to note when you use your rescue inhaler before exercising! After using your inhaler, tap "Timeline", then tap the grey pencil icon to edit the rescue usage. Now you'll be able to change "Preemptive" to Yes. The asthma forecast should appear in your Home tab as long as we've received recent location data from your device. If we don't have recent location data, we aren't able to send an updated forecast. If you have any other questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out! You can call, email or chat us right through the "Contact Support" menu in the app. Breathe well!
