Wonderful, helpful, professional

During a panic attack, I have never and will never reach for my phone. Nothing can replace the love and care I need during an episode.
That being said, this app is extremely good at helping me calm down after panicking. I used to have this basic routine (after an episode) which was just eating, drinking, and sleeping, but that can only go so far. With this app, I can pick among the various tools it has to help me (recordings, quotes, etc.) and there is absolutely no pressure to enjoy it. If I don’t like it, I can skip it and/or give it a 👎 and I’ll never have to see it again.
Very wonderful, very helpful, very professional.
There are absolutely no ads, purchases, or monthly payment.

Phenomenal free tool

Of all of the apps I have seen and attempted to use this has been the best BY FAR! For free it offers awesome mindfulness and breathing exercises. Alternates between soothing pictures, sounds, ideas based on what’s tearing you apart at the moment. Every single day of my existence is a struggle to make it through. I was reaching a point in my day where there was more time in a panic And terror and rottenness then not. This application has significantly helped me in the heat of these moments. It has helped my ability to deal with the panic attacks and steer me from feeling completely lost to there is a light in the far off distance. If you don’t know what to do, You don’t have anywhere to go, try this app. It’s seriously helping me.

Amazing tool for those PTSD!

PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, has many distressing symptoms that a person may experience on a daily basis. This app is a smart way to manage anxious symptoms by pairing them with a relaxation technique such as soothing sounds, music, deep breathing, or pleasant images. This technique of counter-conditioning or graduated exposure was used by Joseph Wolpe- he believed anxious behavior would not happen when paired with incompatible relaxation behavior. He knew it would not be possible to feel anxious and relaxed at the same time. I personally used this app to manage my daily distress with PTSD symptoms, and found myself much more happy and relaxed after only a few weeks of use!

Has helped me tons!

I am a self-diagnosed PTSD sufferer. I’m not a veteran, just a normal teenager who has gone through a lot of trauma that no one should. I looked for apps that would work and I found this one–even though it’s meant for veterans, it’s for PTSD, so it helps me a lot.

I take the monthly check ups to see if I’ve worsened and improved, and to see that test prove in a way what I’m experiencing helps me psychologically, I would say. Gives me validation of sorts.
The tools provided help calm me down and encourage me to keep living and to realize that though my PTSD might never truly stop, it will get better over time. This app has helped me to get better. It also has some tools to get connected with a support group and such, but I’ve never used those because of my isolation (I live in an isolating household).

I strongly recommend installing this app and sharing with friends. I am praying for you all.

Helpful, needs one important fix

I have found this app to be very useful in managing my day. The breathing and mindfulness exercises have a great pace that help me recenter.

One rather significant thing that prevents me from getting any benefit from some of the exercises is hearing the side-work the narrator is doing in the background. I hear her clicking on things or typing, and all I can think is that she is so over worked that she has to multitask while she is making these recordings, and it stresses me out. I want to use more of these tools, but once I hear those sounds in the background that exercise is useless for me.

Please update the app with the same exercises, and let the narrator just record the exercise without the distraction. Thanks.

Great app! Really helps me.

I’ve tried a lot of apps to get help with my complex PTSD. While several of them are useful at different times and in different ways (such as EMDR), this app put so many useful and calming tools in the palm of my hand wherever I am. It’s also not as “out there” or “hippie” (for lack of a better term - no offense intended) as some of the other resources, so I feel pretty good about it. Give it an honest shot. It may really help you recover when things start to get sideways. It does me. Good luck.

Amazed

I have non-combat complex PTSD and this is the best app I have tried. I have used other apps for general anxiety, mindfulness, meditation, etc, and while they helped some it wasn’t enough for me to keep using them. This more specialized approach has been very effective for me. It can be hard to think strait when I am triggered and the app walks me through it. It uses all sorts of tools and you can save your favorites. It has been a godsend for me between therapy sessions. I am so thankful I have it.

Excellent app for managing PTSD

I’m surprised more people don’t know about this app. It’s put out by the Veterans Administration and it’s actually very, very helpful in helping recognize and better manage PTSD symptoms.

The app is super easy to use and includes several tools you can select when you’re struggling with anger, depression, anxiety and more, right when you need it.

I use it all the time and highly recommend it!

Awesome

I learned of this app about 3 years ago. It has become my number one tool I give my clients. I am a licensed counselor and am certified as a trauma therapist in EMDR. This app puts all the good coping skills in one place. It is user friendly. When someone is triggered they can’t think. So this app has tools with audio to walk you through what to do. JUST USE IT!

My feelings on the Coach

I’m gonna make this short. I’m just getting into this app and addressing my issues I mean truly addressing the things that drag me through life is super new to me. And I still don’t know what to expect or what I’m looking for actually. However exploring the journey with the Coach assisting has helped lower my distress level with the different types of exercises. Along with my actual therapist and treatment I believe I’m gonna like it.
