Thesaurus and word relationship tool for writers. Contains over 150,000 words.
Pulpgrinder Thesaurus Rex contains a database of over 150,000 words. It encodes many different word relationships, not just synonyms.
Any highlighted (blue) word can be clicked to use it as the starting point for a new search, allowing you to focus more closely on your intended meaning.
Thesaurus Rex also encodes some indirect relationships. Among other connections, the "See also" section in the screenshot shows many terms from heraldry (related to the rose's use in coats of arms and the like).
Ratings and Reviews
Like except a severe fault
Like this app. Helps when Apple Dictionary isn't doing it. The big problem I have is it has no memory. If I pick another word in the offering, I can't return to the original word. It's gone and I have to type it in again. Consequently I use it much less than I might. In fact it's 3rd back-up to Apple dictionary, internet, then Thesaurus Rex.
