TL;DR: TNP has always been a gem. Fantastic investigative reporting, commentary, and opinion (often with a hilarious snarkiness to it).P+ indubitably takes it to a whole new level. From the overhaul of the site, a beautiful new app that isn’t overly chatty or invasive, even an occasional print—the annual membership is an incredible value.Add P+ to your daily news and commentary diet!!!Detailed: I’ve been a loyal supporter of the national pulse for a while now.Content: The investigative reporting, commentary, and opinions have always been brilliant. It is a perfect balance of domestic and geopolitical insight, delivered on a very healthy cadence (even on weekends). The images are great too. As someone in their 30s, I can send articles to friends knowing they’ll be intrigued.Staff and writing: EiC Raheem has amazing intellect that he pairs with a certain level of snark to keep readers informed, and laughing. The entire staff deliver scoops in a manner that is consistently succinct and insightful. The editors notes were a great introduction too!Website and mobile app: The content has always been fantastic. Even the website was pretty good. The overhaul makes great use of screen real estate and is a lot faster. The reader has been lacking a mobile app but TNP, has once again delivered! So far I’ve enjoyed the app—the notifications aren’t too chatty/overbearing and the layout is beautifully simple and intuitive. No stability issues thus far. Overall, Pulse+ is crushing it!!! This is the worst app ever. Great content terrible platform. Why does the app take you to the web page and then still advertise to get the app?!?! Ok that’s a little upside down and backwards. You also can’t just auto login. I have to login every time. Click the app, safari pulls up the website then I’m being told to get the app on a banner with the App Store link and have to login. Luckily I can use my facial scan so it doesn’t take too long but I’m on safari the whole time. Not the app…. So I’m confused about its existence in the first place. Also we can’t watch in a pop up window to multitask on my $2,000 phone. Like I get it but I also can’t watch it at work because it turns off when I close my screen. So I have to leave it open and vulnerable in my pocket. The video gets interrupted and I stop watching altogether. I feel like I’m putting in more effort than the platform is but maybe I’m just used to the proficiency of longstanding platforms. If you want to grow you have to provide the space for having big time viewer ship. People are not going to come to this app if the app doesn’t even do anything. Honest take been kinda dealing with it and trying to be positive and still support but there haven’t really been any updates. I hope things improve

I walked outside this morning and said to myself “self, fleccas talks is the best new podcast of all time.” Next thing I know, I’m knee deep in some ceviche in a hot parking lot somewhere I could only assume was Miami Beach. There was a dog next to me. It had a strange bark that I could only describe as sounding something very similar to “snarf! snarf!” Suddenly, A strange silhouette appeared and helped me off the ground. It was Rob. “Great game” he said as I dusted myself off. It wasn’t a parking lot. It was a tennis court and we had just finished playing. This app makes you type stuff like that. 7/5.

- The app shuts off if you try using iOS built in Picture in Picture, so you have to keep it open. This is unlike every iOS video app. - The app requires you to constantly log out and back in. Otherwise it will load a blank page, or if it loads thumbnails, content won’t play. So you always fight with it for a bit and remember to log out/back in. - When it loads content it’s a 50/50 chance it loads smoothly. The rest of the time the video buffers forever or poorly, logging out/in doesn’t always solve this. Not worth $9 a month with all the problems and limited content. Maybe if they fixed the problems and replaced some of the lesser talent, like whoever that Raheem guy is, it would be a better or more entertaining app.
