PURE: Open-Minded Dating App
Ratings & Reviews
I downloaded this app 4 days ago it was great I found someone who we clicked immediately and everything was great until tonight as I’m writing this review I had found some stuff on Instagram that I thought we would enjoy so I tried sending him the link to it, but I couldn’t so I just did a screen recording of it like we started talking about it and like maybe we should get something like that because we are getting pretty serious and started looking for stuff and I was sending him pictures of stuff that I liked and what not and then I get banned and back and is like oh I’m sorry everything safe, but just let them do their job and you know the un your account about an hour goes by I messaged the people on Pure in the app and I get a message saying that my account has been banned indefinitely because I was asking for basically asking for money and return for sexual favors, but that was not the case we were just looking at stuff and we were talking about me coming to visit him so we were looking at prices for like flights and what not but I got banned and on top of it. They never told me that that was against the rules when I signed up for it, so I just want everyone to know that you do this just make sure that you filtered it and I mean hopefully they will see this and they will un ban my account because I did explain to them what we were doing, but they didn’t wanna hear it from me so that is my honest review
Developer ResponseHi! We've gone through your case thoroughly, just like we do with every email we receive. Unfortunately, after a careful review and a second look, we found that there were valid reasons for the ban on your account. Breaking the rules leads to a ban forever. There can be no exceptions when we protect our Pure community.
Somehow every person that likes me happens to be from the same town 413.9 miles away. They all ask to add them on Snapchat or Instagram. They also all have horrendous English. I don’t know where this magical town is but it seems that’s where every single person on this app resides. Oh and if the one in a million person who is within 50 miles of me matches, literally every single one is out of gas and needs me to Venmo them some money. All with the promise of paying me back when we meet up. Or if they ask me to come over, all of them just so happen to be watching their younger cousins while their aunts are out of town and desperately need me to pick up a PS4 steam wallet game to keep the kids occupied. It’s truly amazing that every person on this app seems to have the same exact issues. Out of gas or needs the codes to a digital game pass? So weird! But seriously, this app is nothing but bots. It’s become more entertainment at this point to see how the scammers update their bots almost in real time. I’m willing to bet that almost every positive review on this app is a paid review to boost their image. And did I mention I got an alert from the supposed developers that I report fake profiles too much? Yeah. Really comforting to know that they are on it when it comes to the rampant bot issue
Developer ResponseHi there! We are really sorry the app has not impressed you :-(Please let me assure you that people in Pure are mostly not good, but awesome! :-)However, we live in the real world and in the real world some people suck, unfortunately :-(We're working hard to minimize the number of such worthless users in Pure! And I hope you've reported them so that our system could ban their accounts forever!By the way, our new limited range of authorization methods is expected to dramatically reduce their number soon! And have your tried the app different days of the week? You know, the number of users depends on that and a time of the days as well. Please, check that out, you might be surprised with the difference ;-)Also, I'd like to ask you to send an email mentioning this review to our Support team so that we can find a way to change your overall impression :-)We're looking forward to your email at feedback@pure.app.Have a nice day!
I’ve been on and off this app for the last 5-6 years (off when in relationship) and never had an issue. However, I have been accused of by matches of being a bot or asking for money, but redeemed that by sending TRUE PHOTOS. I decided to cut out that repetitive conversation, so I clarified in my bio that I am NOT looking for sugar daddies/babies or looking for monetary gain. Immediately after hitting “publish”, I got banned. I emailed the Pure feedback team per suggestion, asking for clarity/reason for ban and to get my account back as I did not violate guidelines to my knowledge and the team responded with “We do not give away the exact reason or situation so that you don't get upset with anyone in particular but we can only suggest you read our guidelines more accurately to see where you have violated the rules.” To add on, they ended the email very rude by stating, “you lose. So, for now, that's a goodbye.” It feels like women are being targeted for bans because we don’t have to pay any subscription. At that point, you guys should be charging EVERYONE to use the app to really create the “safer environment” you claim to create. Using that logic, I kept seeing fraud accounts I reported, making me feel very not safe. Do better, Pure.
Developer ResponseHey! So, we’ve carefully reviewed your appeal and given it another look. Unfortunately, we can’t change our decision. Bans are only applied for serious violations to keep Pure safe for everyone — it’s our top priority. Feel free to check out Pure’s rules and policies on our website (just scroll to the bottom of any page). We know this might be disappointing, and we really appreciate your understanding.
There's lots of amazing ad simulators out there so what makes this one so special? Well on those apps after you pay to use them the ads go away. But not on this gem! On this one, after you pay for privilege of using the app....the advertisements keep coming! It's seriously genius. Pop-ups, banners, and prompts that never, ever, ever, ever stop. Thanks Pure! You really raised the bar with this one!!Edit: Don't trust their response. They have endless ads selling and advertising their in-app add-ons and bonuses. They're annoying and in every part of the app. There's an ad that pops up from bottom and interferes with your navigation in the most annoying way possible. On one section there's banner ads stacked 4 deep. Meaning you have to tap a tiny "X" four separate times to remove the annoying banners. Do they remain closed for the rest of your session? No. They come back after a little while. The point I'm trying to make is that paying a premium to use the app isn't enough. Because after you pay you're still subjected to a constant stream of tiny hands asking for more money all over the app.Like I said originally. One of the best ad simulators ever!!!
Developer ResponseHi. You’re right — from time to time, Pure shows banners with special offers for in-app purchases. However, we don’t display them as frequently as you described. We also provide access to notification controls. You can manage them either in the Pure app settings or through your phone’s settings.Just a reminder — with a subscription, you get full access to meet people from all over the world. All you need to start a conversation is a mutual like. If you have any questions, feel free to write to review@pure.app, and we’ll be happy to help.
As an executive in a global corporation, I have to devote most of my time to my job. I also travel more than 40 times per year, which leaves less time for dating or a girlfriend. Being in a city for just a couple of days left me with choosing casual dates with young women as my favorite option. I used to use Tinder, but it has gotten pretty much a hassle in the last time. Way too complicated and most profiles are not even active it seems. Ever since I discovered Pure, I have to spend much less time finding a suitable girl for a night or two. Pure just completely takes away any kind of waiting or hesitation. It's Yes or No, that's pretty much it. Thanks to thet 24-hour-chat, which deletes itself after that period of time, there's no room for games. Girls on the app are sweet and much more suitable than the average female Tinder user, who doesn't really know what she wants. So far, I met five girls thanks to Pure. All of them were pretty, sexy and ready to get intimate if the connection fits. To me as a busy man and a guy who has no patience for the flood of so-called hook up apps, which are actually time-wasters, I can recommend Pure. Easy, straight to the point and genuine. Great work, dear coders
I thought this might be fun to try but the amount of heterosexual straight men who make up the clientele of this app is laughable/gross. About 65% will openly show interest in you even if there are no kinks shared between you two just to waste your time and try to get you to be into something that is inherently not at all a kink for you. There is also an ENORMOUS amount of men on the app who claim they are ‘dominant’ when in reality they just want to control others bodies, rather than be respectful doms. About half of the men’s profiles I scrolled through say “they are rubbing it right now” or “hard right now” whilst they are scrolling through the app just looking at people. Ew. Many ask for sex on demand whether it be in their public bio or once a chat starts. There’s a huge amount of married people cheating on their partners and many of the women who are ‘single’ are actually couples who are unicorn hunters even though there is a couple feature. This app has become akin to those pop up ads from illegal websites that claim ‘Sex near you now!’ Gross. This app would be much better if they limits the amount of heterosexual men and then monitored how people behaved. For example, if you like someone’s profile, but you have no kinks in common there should be a message reminding you not to waste people’s time and to focus on finding something that you are actually interested in rather than pushing your kinks onto someone else.
Developer ResponseHello, Idea of active consent and mutual respect is a key to us — and we are sorry that someone has upset you today. We totally disapprove of that kind of behaviour so let's guide you how to report the way-too-naughty person. While in chat with a violater, click on three dots in the right upper corner (in their ad it will be left lower corner) and choose "Report". We will take care of it from there.
Pure is the most straight forward way to meet others who are a part of the niche community of people who are into kinky or fringe relationships. Most of the people on here don’t want to hassle with having to talk about backstories and the such which makes getting to find someone who is into the same things sexually as you much easier. Things the app should do is allow the use of tags of users ads so allowing for others wanting to look for ads that appeal to them can use a filter and streamline the process. The king of the hill option is flawed in that you can pay money to be seen by everyone during the apps most active time, between 10pm-2am, but someone can become the king of the hill and replace you 5 seconds later. There needs to be a minimum and maximum amount of time you can be displayed like that. Also the amount of scam artists using fringe apps like these are heinous to say the least but at least for hinge, most of the time easy to spot. Bad grammar and improper use of common slang such as hookup or other red flags have a pattern. Pure can fix this problem by having verification like the app Kinkoo where you have to take a true photo in the app of you holding up a piece of paper with the name “Pure” on the app. Verified individuals should either have a check mark next to their name or should be the only ones allowed to post. The user base is actually pretty good for this app for the niche community, but it can be better. Pure, you need to invest in some marketing- for real! I’ve seen so so so many marketing pushes for dating apps on Snapchat and other places it’s insane. This is all I have to say. Pure is really great rn but could be so much better. Sincerely,The best daddy🖤
The discreetness is cool and so is the presentation of the app itself. I’ve met a few real people lol but here are some issues:1. Lack of close people: I live in Texas, about an hour from Houston. I’m used to having limited options if you don’t live a big city but, this app doesn’t have a lot of people regardless of where you live. You get about 3-4 people and everybody is 150+ away. Only 3-4 people in greater Houston? That’s bad. 2. Distance lies: I’m under the impression that you don’t have a passport feature on this app.....so why do I have people who distance says they are close but, when you talk to them “oh I’m from Montana or NYC” or 1 minute they’re close, and the next the distance says 500+ away. Y’all gotta get that crap togetherLastly: Hookers and Content makers: you’re gonna deal with spam/fake regardless of what app you’re on but, I think it’s weird that y’all and other app makers lack at getting a grip on that stuff. I respect sex workers and what they do....but, fam, that’s not what I’m coming to the app for. I could pull up to my local downtown area for that.Try to week subscription if you’re interested. I’ve met people who are real and actually close but, outside of that, idk man, doesn’t seem like it’s worth longer than that.
Developer ResponseHi, there! Thanks for your feedback. Sorry to hear that, but we're working on widening our presence in various locations and hopefully you'll enjoy vast variety of new users in yours and many others ;-)We'd be glad to find a way to have you change your opinion about the app ;-)Indeed, some sort of enhanced verification is needed, and we've recently prioritized the tasks to improve such filters for scammers and other wrongdoers who have survived the recent updates (limited range of sign in options). Hopefully, that will be implemented by the time the new version releases a bit later in 2021. Sorry for these temporary inconveniences and we hope for your understanding. Please send an email mentioning this review to our Support team so that we can find a way to change your overall impression :-)We're looking forward to your email at feedback@pure.app.Have a lovely day!
I am honestly very upset and disappointed that I have to share the terrible experience I have had with this app. I have been on the app for a while and I really liked the app. Recently, I have been revoked access from my account and told that my account is banned. I have read the terms and conditions and user guidelines and I am positive that I have done nothing but follow them. I have NEVER been banned from an app before because I have always followed the guidelines. Upon contacting support, I was told that they will not be reinstating my account and they have not told me the specific reason as to why I was banned. I have been told it is because my account received complaints, but not what the complaints were for. Not to mention that I have only received pre-written email responses and have not been connected with an actual person to help me on this matter. I have encountered many terrible men on this app that should be banned but are probably still on there. There are men on here who have tried to pay me to hook up with them which is a violation of the rules and upon rejecting them I am sure they put complaints against my account. I have heard other women say they have had the same experience. This app needs to change the way that it treats women. I am deeply disappointed.
Developer ResponseHello,Sorry we have to upset you — yes, we had to ban your profile, and yes, we had double-checked it. No mistakes. We do not give away the exact reason or situation so that you don't get upset with anyone in particular but we can only suggest you read our guidelines more accurately to see where you have violated the rules. See it here: https://pure.app/content/en/guidelinesBeing respectful towards other Puritans is a total must. If you don't play by the rules — you lose. So, for now, that's a goodbye.
This app allows its users to send disturbing pictures of harm coming to animals. Not long after matching with another user from the app, I was sent a disturbing image depicting harm coming to an animal. Obviously I reported it immediately, but when I couldn’t find any way to talk to an actual person, I also called Apple Support and reported it there as well. My account was frozen and subsequently banned immediately following my report to Apple Support. Additionally, the rating and review I had written about this experience—this review—was either removed or prevented from being published. This app clearly does not have adequate safety measures in place which puts all of its users at risk. Strongly advise against using this app until they can secure better quality control measures. To do otherwise is to put yourself at risk to receive similar suspect content or possibly even worse content. This review is all I can do to right the wrong that was done to me and worse still, that poor lil creature. 😢 I hope it will serve as a warning to others that they might avoid having to go through what I just went through. Please insist app developers utilize the most thorough up to date software, so that these sick people will stop getting the publicity they so desperately want. Please, please, help. 😞
Developer ResponseHey there — we're really sorry you had such a disturbing experience. That kind of content is strictly against our guidelines, and we take reports like this very seriously. Our system is built to catch violations, but if something got through, we definitely want to investigate. Please email us at review@pure.app so our team can look into what happened and take the right action. And if your account was banned by mistake, let us know — we’ll review it manually and, if it was an error, we’ll be happy to lift the ban and welcome you back.
