Quartz is your guide to the global economy. We cover the most important and interesting news, with a focus on how businesses and industries are changing.
The main experience of our app is a continually updated news briefing written by our journalists around the world, along with insights from our reporters and members. It's free to read. If you want, we'll also send you notifications throughout the day that keep you informed without being annoying. (They don't even buzz your phone.) Our goal is to help you understand how the world is changing, while respecting your time.
You can also become a member of Quartz to add your own insights to our coverage and enjoy member-exclusive coverage throughout the app. Quartz membership requires an additional purchase.

We’ve rebuilt our home screen to showcase the best of Quartz’s reporting in a brand new way. It might look familiar if you’ve read the Quartz Daily Brief email.
Every day, we’ll bring you the most important and interesting news from the global economy, now with more original reporting, charts, and of course emoji.

Quartz is a trusted source for global business news—but it’s more fun to think of the app as the info-obsessed friend who keeps you in the know. (And occasionally speaks in haiku.) Quartz’s feed is continually updated by the app’s team of international journalists. Stories include Quartz’s original content and chatty summaries of articles from Bloomberg, The Guardian, CNBC, Wired, and other outlets.
Bad business practice
Making it so that only paid members can comment and share ideas about articles is a way to lose users, not gain members. This also sets the tone that only voices with money behind them matter. If your struggling that much for money, is it really worth continuing to be a business? Why not just add advertisements for non-paying members? That makes much more sense.
If your having problems with non-members spamming or commenting inappropriately, why not add moderators? There are so many better ways to do this.
Quartz is a great way to get actual news without political bias. It’s short and sweet so I get a summary of important events going on in media, politics, business, and anything else that the public should know. The notifications are only important info so they aren’t annoying, and unlike most free apps it’s not riddled with ads. It’s one of my favorite apps now! I would highly recommend it to people who want to be caught up with the latest news but only have a few moments to do so
