After many years of peace between the Five Kingdoms, dark clouds are gathering over the realm of humans and elves. After an attempt to assassinate the Elf King, life's delicate balance, which was only maintained through the magic of the Sacred Truce, has come to end. Friends and neighbors are beginning to turn against each other. Suddenly the tiny village of Saddletown becomes the centre of attention for the entire kingdom – according to the elves it's where the would-be assassin is hiding. It seems that the people of the town must answer for his crimes.
The mayor of Saddletown invites the emissary of the Peacekeepers Guild for a meeting. The ongoing peace between humans and elves and the fate of Five Kingdoms are in his hands.

what a story
With all the intrigue and suspense the game kept my interests and there were a few twists and turns that kept the game exciting. Take it for what it is worth, a nice time with extra time to just relax and enjoy.
Good game that wasn't quite ready for prime time
Beautiful music and graphics and entertaining HOPs characterize this game. The droning on about peace gets a little boring, as much as I agree with the sentiment. More problematic are cursor freezes and occasional crashes. The game is saved so you don't have to start over, but I think these should be fixed before the game is released to the customer.
Progressived lowering in quality of games, puzzles and art.
I have loved artifex mundi games but have found the last few I’ve done take a shorter time to solve, are not as challenging. There are more videos (like in enigmatis 3) but very little time is put into interesting puzzles anymore. This game is for an elementary schooler. As an adult, I loved the puzzles in the games, now there is really no challenge. Please don’t dumb down your games.
