Very cool!

The Quicklook and thumbnail features are the main reason to get this app. It's also one of the faster FITS viewers out there.

If it had the option to display more of the FITS header data in the previews and in the app itself it'd be perfect.

Developer Response ,

Hey, thanks for the feedback, please check the newest update, it adds a header panel in the main app (can't do that for the preview since it's against apple's design guide).

Thank you! Just what I needed!

This app is just what I needed. All I wanted was a way to easily preview and open the FITS images taken with my color astrocamera, and export them as a TIF file for editing in Photoshop. This app is very easy to use. My only wishlist suggestion is batch processing. It'll save time if I could just drag/drop multiple FITS into a window and export them all at once at TIFs. Still, I'm very satisfied and I want to say Thank You to the Developers.

Fails on BigSur with M1 chip

Not sure it is M1 that is the issue, but the application immediately aborrts upon trying to load an image; running Big Sur 11.2.3 on MacBookPro with M1 chip

Actually, I think it was an .xisf file (which is what PixInsight now uses as an upgrade to the old fits formats. I suspect you may easily be able to include them (it may be as simple as treating the .xisf extension as a synonym (although I think it does have extra header information).

Developer Response ,

Hey,
Do you mind sending your fits file to astro6974 at gmail dot com? This may be a compatibility issue with your image as I’ve tested all my images on a M1 Mac and experienced no issues.
Thanks
