Description

QuickMIDI enables you to connect a MIDI keyboard quickly and play sounds easily.
You can also add your favorite SoundFont (SF2) and change the tone.
You can use Keyboard Viewer for screen sharing.

Note 1: SoundKeyboard runs with wired (USB) and wireless (Bluetooth) MIDI keyboards. However, I cannot guarantee the operation with all MIDI keyboards.
Note 2: Developer may end support for older macOS without notice.

Boris Rio ,

The latest update seems to have fixed a couple issues

The latest update fixes the issue where the app wouldn't open at all in Big Sur. Additionally, it seems to have solved the problem with the SoundFont resetting (deactivating) every time you select a different MIDI device. After a few days, I'll update my review.

Developer Response ,

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I have fixed this bug in version 2.1.

What I've ALWAYS wanted!!!

As a professional musician sometimes I need something fast to pull up a sound to learn a quick part or find a key of a song, chart a song etc without the need to open up a DAW or load a large sound bank etc. This ALSO sounds really nice for what it is. All other MIDI apps in this category sound like the cheapest lamest piano ever.

Thank you to makers of this, this will run every time my computer loads from now on and will be ready at a moment' notice when I need to work out a quick part without the frustration of waiting to hook things up to use.

Just works!

This does just what I hoped for. It offers a simple way to play some basic sounds triggered by a midi controller through my Mac without having to fire up one of my big programs. I have a small 3 octave controller which just fits on my desk which I got for note entry and other basic keyboard tasks with various music programs. But often I just need to check the key of something I'm listening to or bang out a couple of chords. QuickMIDI recognized my keyboard right away and off I go. Very happy so far.
