Having Major Problems
Dollfacepage
I wrote a long review then accidentally hit cancel, which basically sums up how this app makes me feel right now. Two stars rather than one because I still feel loyal to it, but in the last few months (maybe... I haven't checked for a while) it stopped letting me use the app on my laptop. It redirects me to a browser and absolutely doesn't work. I also have a job that requires me to travel to places that don't have online access, so this is totally useless to me. Thank GOD it still works on my phone... for now. PLEASE fix this someone! I just want to be able to use the app on my computer like I used to. Now I'm panicking that I'll have to move all of my files to another app but I really don't want to. Can someone give me hope?
Docking a Point for Inefficient Update
Hoophorse
I use quip for everything and it literally saved my life so many times because I have quick access to important files in situations where I unexpectedly need them. I'm much more organized, acheive my goals faster and easier, and I love the immediate and accurate syncing and accessibility that makes google docs, evernote, apple notes, microsoft onenote etc. seem like stone-age productivity apps. I've already recommended this app to all of my friends. I know they probably put all the formatting options in the doc at the upper part of the page to help the people of the stone-age feel more oriented and comfortable which is good. However, for the adaptable, high-demand users who have a trememnous amount of work to do and have fullly converted and committed to this app, this update has crippled my productivity and efficiency by having to incessantly toggle up and down the page for every nit-pickly little change in format I need to make in the doc. The quick access bar should remain for those who wish to be fast, and the new upper tool bar should stay for those who are converting from more conventional formats and are more comfortable with the editing tools to be in a less efficient position. Please help us lifers stay, well, productive!
The One tool you'll need for gathering and organizing information
flbeachdude
As a Business Analyst, it is my job to gather information and organize it into actionable requirements for projects. I have been looking for the right tool to help me be able to gather information, create and track tasks and organize the information so it can be put into our standard documents. I didn't realize that I had downloaded the app I was looking for years ago and had put it away in a folder to evaluate it at a later date. I luckily saw it there and opened it to see what it had to offer. I was estatic when I found that it was just what I was searching for plus more with collaboration and conversation functionality with co-workers/friends and Live Apps which are fantastic. Try this app and you won't be disapointed.
Awful collaborative docs implementation. Much prefer Google Docs.

Quip is like a stripped down version of Google Docs/Sheets. I just find the service laggy and buggy. The folder hierarchy is a bit confusing, slow to load, and the UI is very buggy. The native app is just a wrapper around the website--why download it. I may be wrong on this point, as I've noticed that the native app seems to have issues loading files and staying in sync—so I might be wrong, but it's for the wrong reasons.Simple features like font selection are missing or confusingly placed. The spreadsheet gets very laggy when you do any kind of batch data manipulation (on a 2022 MBP). The number of bugs has caused me so much pain. I've lost countless tables in their docs because cut&paste erases entire tables. The version history doesn't track the year!Just writing this is making my blood boil. I really can't stand quip.
Thanks for using Quip! Our latest version includes bug fixes and other improvements.
