Easy to use, decent fidelity
The Radio France FM app for Mac has a simple interface and an interesting variety of 39 stations, at this writing. There is a variety of station themes from jazz to pop to blues, latina and talk. I downloaded it to listen to JazzRadio.fr and the app does seem to have better fidelity than the broadcast of the station through a web browser. On the downside, the Jazz Radio station on the app only has the website’s main station, whereas the website allows you to listen to a variety of jazz-related stations such as piano jazz, blues, all-women jazz and others. The app lost a star for this shortcoming, plus the station viewed through the web browser provides much more information such as performer and song title. All of this is missing from the app. But it’s a simple, painless interface that can run in the background, and is worth downloading.
