Great app for many people

This app is great for amateur radio operators, paid and volunteer firefighters and other public safety radio coordinators, you can play the sound near the phone and it will detect it, it could use a little explanation of all the features and it needs to detect sooner because on shorter tones it has a issue hearing it but besides that this app is a lifesaver for scanner listeners, volunteer firefighters programming all pagers, many different uses just for the tone finding, again I would like a manual on the other features and how to use them but besides that no complaints, 9/10 and such a good price, worth more then .99 cents

Great App

This is a great app that works as advertised. You can sit it next to a scanner and it will decode PTT ID etc. It doesn't decode from your phone speaker if you are using an online scanner. It only uses the MIC and shuts off the other audio from online so there isn't a workaround. I would rate it 5 stars and call it amazing after the addition of that simple option (decode from streaming web audio).

Needs some work

Radio ID

The only problem with the Radio ID app is it seems to pull all the 2-Tone info from a standard Motorola Quick Call II tone table and doesn't actually display the tones that are being transmitted. For example, it decoded a Plectron tone set as 979.9 and 788.5 instead of the actual Plectron tones of 992.0 and 799.0. In addition it seems like some of the Motorola tone tables are left out too. I decoded a Motorola "Z" Group tone set as 422.1 and 788.5. The "Z" Group tones being transmitted were actually 426.6 and 794.3.

I guess if you didn't have anything else, this would get you close. Maybe some tweaking would be in order by the app developer.

Resposta do desenvolvedor ,

This is correct. For greater accuracy, it works the way a real pager does - with tuned filters - not as a frequency counter. In the future I may add alternative tone tables. Due to the overlaps between them, it isn't possible to simultaneously display Quick Call and Plectron.
