Rainbow RSS Reader is an exciting new way to read the news on the move. It is a full-featured standalone newsreader App made to have your news available and up to date whenever and wherever you are.
The main idea behind Rainbow RSS Reader is the Unified Feed. A lot like the unified inbox, it puts together all the news from different sources in chronological order making it easy to navigate. The Unified Feed is the App’s main screen.
You can assign a color to each one of your sources so that the news in the Unified Feed are marked with respective colors – immediately visible and intuitive. You can also filter news by choosing one of the colors or by searching for a particular keyword.
While reading an article you can always move to the next or previous item or jump to the first unread article on your Unified Feed with the latter being also possible by simply shaking your device. This is particularly useful when reading in fullscreen mode (tap anywhere with two fingers to enter or exit fullscreen mode) or if your hands are busy.
Back at the main screen you can swipe any article and choose to show only news from the same channel, of the same color or initiate a full text search using the article’s title as a keyword. If you’re already filtering or viewing search results, swiping any article will restore the default mode.
The App lets you configure all the feeds you like by simply adding them from the “Feeds” screen, accessible by tapping the Bookmarks button. You can setup a single feed by typing the name of the site or full RSS/Atom feed URL or you may choose to import feeds from your Google-Reader account.
Rainbow RSS Reader caches all your news so that you can read them even when the network is not available. You can always choose to mark all items “As read” or ask the App to download latest news updates.

Does the job
Switched to this because it was the most similar to Google Reader. Can't force it to follow sites like I could in Reader though. Feedly kept giving me over-capacity errors and the others seemed annoying so I tried this because it's simple. 4 stars cus I wish they had more colors available & the ability to force follows.
The best Rss reader out there!
I used a few different RSS feed apps over the years and this one is by far the best one yet. Landscape mode is awesome! Loads feeds super fast and very easy to navigate through. You couldn't ask for a better app for your RSS feed reading. The only thing I did notice was when clicking on the rss link via safari my old RSS app would open when I clicked the link. Unfortunately this doesn't do that. Or at least I have figured out how to enable it. Still a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 app!
I take the time to review very few apps, but I felt this one was worth reviewing. It is getting harder and harder to find a simple rss reader, let alone one that wasn't totally dependent on Google reader. The best way I can put it is that the app just works. I have had no problems, and it consistently does what it is supposed to.
