RainSoft® REMIND 4+

Please note: I am very, pleased with the water softener system. However, not pleased with the app. (RainSoft Developer). I am disconnected from the wifi and unable to connect to the Rainsoft App. However; I notice as well I need to constantly check the RainSoft App. for regeneration time without being notified. The app doesn't notify me when this process is about to be carried out. I also don't receive notifications about this software problem. I really would love to see this RainSoft application updated to be able to carry out these issues which are so vital to the Rainsoft Water Softener system. For example, regenerating itself. I would also love to be notified of when the application (App) is not connected to wifi.

Had the Rainsoft system installed in May 2022. I downloaded the app and connected to the softener system. Though it was less than straightforward, it did connect and I was able to see a lot of useful information. Then two months later the app wouldn’t connect anymore. Emailed tech support who quickly responded letting me know that their servers are rebooting. Tried for a few more days, still not connecting. I just tried again 6 months after the initial install, my system no longer shows in the app. Tried reconnecting, no luck. Contacted support was told to wait an hour. 3 hours later still not connected. So folks stop wasting your time. This is obviously a poorly supported app. I think it is used a La a marketing gimmick to sell you the system. Making you think you are buying a state-of-the-art system when it doesn’t seem to be. I was foolish enough to pay a premium for Rainsoft. Stick to a simpler, cheaper system that will work just as well.

Lost internet for 20 hours. Now system and app will not sync. Deleted app reinstalled, no luck. As a side not the water softener keeps losing two hours. I keep resetting time. The system needs lots of work. As of now app serves no purpose along with inability to keep time.
Update. It’s been two months now. The water softener sometimes will sync with the app, but it’s usage level on the softener are not in sync. The app says I’m not connected to the softener. So something is not right. These water softeners sell for a premium. Construction wise they do look well made. But the app and the software on the softener itself are lacking. The softener still loses two hours after being reset numerous times. Hopefully RainSoft will push a software update to the softener.

Update. The computer was replaced. So far so good on keeping time.
