We found a minor issue setting up custom icons from the camera roll, but we managed to fix it!

All Data Deleted, Locked Out of Accounts

I have used this app for years and one morning I wake up, open the app, and it’s blank. I thought I had done something wrong so I logged out and back in and nothing. I saw other reviews of the same issue. I looked at what the developers said and they said to update to 110.4, so I did and still not fixed. I saw another dev reply and they asked to email them for help. I emailed them very respectfully and two days went by and no reply. I followed up saying that I have been waiting patiently and please help and two days later I have still heard nothing. This is extremely disappointing. I understand mistakes happen but at this point with no reply I’m rating this app a 1 and lower if it was possibly. This type of app is not a place to make this type of mistake and not help the users. I do not recommend this app and do not trust this company.

No longer open source plus update deletes everything

App was great for years. It has since then changed ownership and no word on the future of this being open source software anymore. Also the new update deletes all previous data (made it easier for me to make the decision to switch really 🤷‍♂️). Luckily I make a backup JSON file regularly so I was able to easily switch to another open source app called 2Fas. 2Fas works great and there is another open source app I will be trying out called Ente Auth. If you only use Apple products then Tofu is also another good open source option. You have options to switch and this new update with it deleting everything just makes for an easier decision to switch 👍.

Update Lost All Data

A recent update wiped out all of my data. Fortunately I still had the master key and a backup file, but the app couldn’t even load the backup file. The app gives the error “Could not parse JSON”, but I was able to unzip the file on my laptop and the backup JSON is a valid JSON file.

Prior to this I used the app for years and loved it. It’s open source and I really do appreciate the work the developers put in to it. However given the recent data loss I’m not sure I can recommend it. If you do use it, make sure to save your master key and take regular backups. Fortunately the back up file is just a zip file with a JSON file in it. You can just pull the secrets from the JSON file to import your keys in to a different app.
