How it works:
To subscribe to the service, parents sign up for a free 7-day trial and then pay $14.99/month for a digital subscription. The subscription includes full app access to Ello’s 1:1 instruction, an exclusive library of digital books, and digital prizes weekly. For an additional fee, parents can also have an additional five physical books mailed to their doorstep each month. Ello is recommended for children in preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade and third grade.

1st day but so far we love it!
Update after Day 1:
So far I really like it. It is day 1 and I feel like most things are fun the first day so I will keep everyone updated! First thoughts! I love how it listens to him read. If he misses a word the word bounces, if he misses it again it highlights the word, then he can click on it and it helps him sound it out. Love that! Also it works on comprehension! Not with questions at the end but with comments about what you are reading as you go along and such. It is also very encouraging as he reads giving lots of positive feedback. And as he goes along he earns stars to buy outfits, hats, shoes etc for his little elephant guy. Day 1 was a success. I set a timer for 20 min and he actually stayed on for 35 minutes total.
Note: it is definitely more of a reading app and less of a game app. But for us, that is what I was looking for. Just an interactive fun way to read more.

This ACTUALLY works (and your kid won’t hate it)
Watching my first grader struggle with reading was heartbreaking. She was behind her peers and lacked confidence. Then we found this app and everything changed!
The fun, game-like design hooked her instantly, and the personalized lessons worked wonders. She’s gone from dreading reading to proudly showing off her progress. Her confidence has skyrocketed, and she’s now excited to pick up books on her own.
While the app can occasionally be glitchy, customer support has been super helpful and quick to resolve any issues. If you have a struggling reader, don’t wait—Ello is worth every penny. It’s truly been a lifesaver for us!
Exceptional reading program
My 6 year old Kindergartner has be unwilling to read. He would get nervous with the books we had, knowing he wouldn’t get every word right. After 30 days of using Ello he actually ASKS if it’s reading time! He has over 1000 star points earned in just one week, which I allow him to redeem for prizes or outings. I’m so excited to see how he performs in the first grade! My guess is he will be at the top of his class in reading aptitude. He feels quite accomplished!
