Ratings and Reviews
Work in progress
This app is not as terrible as most of the reviews have made it out to be. With that said, I don’t expect much control of my cameras from an app that I could be across the nation from. Could it be better, sure. Could it do more, I bet. The security system and this app are priced appropriately (only buy if on sale) and the app and hardware are spot on considering the cost per unit. The cameras sell for cheaper than what people would call good cameras. I’ve got several, with and without mic. No ptz. The set up is confusing and could be re-envisioned, overall don’t take on if you are a novice with networks. It won’t be fun. I’ve not had the crashing issue some report, and I am on T-Mobile. The biggest concern that I have is - the alerts, there are so many! For a while I had only 1 camera connected. I would get the same alert at a minimum of 10 times. So I had to turn that option off. Overall, it works. I am sure there are better options out there, but considering the company, equipment, and support (which by the was amazing, they swapped out 4 non mic cameras to mic camera for free). I would suggest just to get yourself up and running for cheap and replace when parts fail with better items of your liking.
Slow and stubborn. No T mobile
I havehad nothing but trouble with this overcomplicated GW Security system, and this realview pro app. More acronyms than the US government, had to switch from t mobile because it wont work with them on an iphone, customer service is English speaking thankfully, and knowledgable, but after literally hours on the phone, and one guy who didnt care enough to know I had asked a question, three times, I was left a tad bit irritated. For the 1500 I have in the thing, I had hoped it would have worked a bit more smoothly. I still dont know how to get a recording from the nvr to a drive, how to open it for viewing on a computer away from home, and I never know if, when I open the app, whether it is going to work or not. It’s slow to open, and if you want to look at it later, you have to completely close the app then re open it. If it will open at all.
This gets the job done but very minimally. Linking takes longer than I'd like and it doesn't auto reconnect. It's also desperately needing video playback controls (rewind fast forward etc.) the scrolling to specific times is cool but it's very hard to get the right time as the slider goes away on its own and without playback controls it's hard to find the event your looking for. Then once you find the right time if you switch camera views it jumps back to live video. There's also something odd with video recoded by the app. It works and plays back locally fine but fails to send to anything unless you open it in a video editor like iMovie and save it as a new video first.
I really wish there was a better app I could use with my NVR even if I had to pay for it.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
