Break from FB

I spend a lot of time on FB. I have fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions so I spend a fair amount of time in bed or just sitting down with my legs up. ( Fibromyalgia is mostly in my legs) I don’t get out a lot because of kids, pain issues and currently the pandemic, so FB is a way to help me stay in touch with my friends, plus learn about things that are going on in the world.
I get SO SICK of FB. The things others can post that you get in trouble for reposting, the blatant lies that get passed around, and the outright meanness and ignorance of other peoples “friends” that don’t know you, just gets under my skin daily. It’s no fun seeing how backwards and angry some people are, and the trolls!! Don’t even get me started.
Reddit seems so much calmer to me, and so far I haven’t seen one nasty argument that makes no sense why people even waste their time. I am learning a lot, seeing new and exciting things, and have not once been offended by someone’s inability to be a grown up and not bully other people, just to do it.
Thank you Reddit, for giving me a sane place to entertain my mind while feeding my brain, without all the ignorance and nonsense FB openly allows. No “keyboard mafia” here. I really appreciate this.

Amazing app, totally recommend.

This is a great app for things such as news articles, petitions, horrible facebook memes, interesting pictures or videos, or even some regular memes for a good laugh. However, Reddit doesn’t do a very good job of filtering through every post or comment to see if it is appropriate and follows the community’s guidelines. I had made a comment to a post on r/memes, saying “ah yes, those dang cows, always there when you least expect it.” About 3 seconds after I had posted the comment, I got a notification that read “Your comment has been removed as your account does not meet our posting requirements. You can visit....” I was very confused because I thought that the comment was appropriate for said community and did not break any of their rules. Other than that, it is very easy to use and a great way to un-bore you anywhere you are, whether it’s the doctor’s office, waiting for the bus to arrive, in the car, in your room, etc. Please download this app.
