Responsible for their own demise

App used to be great. Easy to navigate. Great for local news. Then pop up ads came. Fine. Par for the course. Now you have to pay for content. I guess the ads weren’t cutting it. I feel like the Facts is scrambling to find a revenue generator that works, but sadly I feel like they are only shooting themselves in the foot by not balancing it with the effect it has on their readers. Killing their own business. I will no longer be using this app. Plenty of news out there supported by ad revenue and that doesn’t charge readers directly.

Not that great

When you buy a newspaper that serves a community, you have a responsibility to serve the community. This app, and the paper in general, is failing to do so.

The newest stories in Breaking Stories are from four months ago. The calendar section is inadequate.

The app is hard to navigate.

There are way too many articles from Los Angeles, where the new owners are based, and fewer from Redlands since the paper was sold.

The ads are too hard to avoid clicking on.

I live in Redlands and recently changed to the digital edition of this paper on weekdays. I'm sorry I did. I'm actually paying for access to this digital paper. The app managers need to do a better job.

Inane ads and no search?

I find it hard to believe it even though I paid for a print subscription, the online version doesn’t seem to have a search function and frequently pops up on skippable video ads to boot.
