It is quite simple to use.
You decide the duration of your goal from 1 month to 1 year, and
It will guide you to reduce SMOOTHLY the daily amount of cigarette you smoke.

- The screen is green ? that's ok you can smoke.

- The screen is red ? you cannot smoke until it automatically switches back to green.

Absolutely no need to think.

The algorithm within the app takes your parameters to setup a smart curve that corresponds to your own smoking habits :

1) The duration you want (from 1 month to 12)
2) Your own average daily sleep time
3) Your current amount of cigarettes per day
4) Your goal (reduce OR quit)

After this very easy setup, you are ready to go.
Redlight Quit Smoking will automatically prepare your schedule for an optimal chance of success.


In case you feel stressed while waiting for the next green panel, we have designed a stress relief COHERENT BREATHING exercise to help you manage nicotine withdraw anxiety.
This is totally optional but if you need it just select a session time and a breathing pace.

Coherent breathing involves an increase of blood flow throughout the body and helps relaxing. You can do it for 3, 4 or 5 minutes only.


Throughout your journey you'll have what we call "party time" once a week. This means you'll be allowed to smoke 3 extra cigarettes for a limited time (6h).

So give yourself time but start right now your journey to free yourself from nicotine !

Slowly reducing is a great concept.

It seems like your only choices to quit are so drastic. Either you switch to some
Other form of nicotine, patch, vape, gum, etc. But you’re still addicted to nicotine. Sure there are two parts to this habit, 1: the physical addiction, 2: the habit. So with other methods your just changing the habit but still have a physical addiction.
I like the idea of slowly reducing, because your working on both the habit and physical addiction at the same time. Thanks for creating this app.

A great start

Love the simplicity of the green light you can have a smoke, red light you can’t. The first few days it was hard to adjust (I think I smoked 2 in a row more than I realized)- but I’m noticing a pack is lasting me longer now. I do really like the breathing function. If I can get to where I focus on breathing every time I want a cigarette, I’ll be in good shape to quit soon enough.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We originally didn't include a countdown and a cigarette counter because we wanted smokers to "forget" about the next cigarette as much as possible. But we understand it's not easy and having you check the app often is not our intend. We are considering adding it in a future update. Looks great and simple to use

I’ve been looking for an app like this. Easy and intuitive set up screens and just a click to start. I’m impressed with the appearance and very simple to use. As long as I follow the screen directions, I expect to be breathing only fresh air soon. Highly reccommended!
