Reefminder is the ultimate, easy-to-use aquarium log and inventory management app for your saltwater aquarium. It also provides tools specific to reef keeping, and great for reminders to check your tank. Get it? Reefminder?

In the saltwater fish and reef keeping hobby, we invest a lot of time and effort into maintaining our tanks. We all know to keep our eye on things like water quality, chemistry, livestock behavior, equipment performance, and so on. However, we tend to only record these numbers when things go wrong. That’s why experts in the hobby not only monitor their tanks, but they record and document their results.

This is what the pros call an Aquarium Log.

We have tried keeping a good ol’ fashion paper journal, but when you’re at your local store or out talking with some experts, you can never remember what you wrote down (and what a pain to remember to bring a journal with you). We have also tried some of the other apps out there, but most are over complicated, tedious, and cumbersome.

So that’s why we created Reefminder.

With Reefminder, you can quickly and easily log every livestock item you add, water change you perform, equipment you check, or just note any interesting observations, all with our amazing timeline based interface. Just tap the “+” button, and all the different “event” types appear as color coded icons. Once you record your event, it is displayed in a beautiful timeline. We think this timeline is the easiest way to quickly view your tanks history at a glance.

Just what I needed

I keep a fish tank because it is a relaxing and beautiful hobby. As most people that own fish tanks know the downside is managing the upkeep. This app is simple and allows you to easily track everything and set reminders for things. I love that it has a picture taking option so you can compare them to previous ones. What would be really cool is if this turned into a little community of people posting their awesome tanks, fish, and coral and if there was a message board so the community could help give each other tips about maintaining your tank.

I really like how the developer(s) are taking note of our comments regarding the app and implementing bi-weekly reminders and a scroll wheel among other things. I also enjoy the app icon & interface and I hope it continues getting better with future updates (though it's already great in my opinion).

What an excellent idea. I love that you can set reminds to change the water, it's the most useful thing in my opinion because regular water changes keep fish healthy (along with various other factors of course). This app also lets you add food/equipment that you use for your fish as well as your info. about your fish themselves. There are other great features as well, and the interface is good after you take a minute to figure it out/look at the Help menu if needed. Wonderful app. Hidden gem for anyone who owns fish.

Great when it doesn’t crash

I’ve been using this for several months now which has been nothing but a great experience. I tried to open it today and it just crashed. I came to the App Store to see if anyone had a similar problem and I found an update that addressed the problem. So I updated but it still crashes. Please fix, i love Reefminder!

Edit: It’s Wed morning/Tues night and it doesn’t crash anymore. Thank you!
