Problem: Many businesses and events provide directions to their location by linking to Google Maps. But we'd like to open these locations in Apple Maps instead.

Solution: ReMap Safari Extension easily re-routes various mapping websites to Apple Maps.

How it Works:
When a link can be redirected to Apple Maps, the ReMap logo will appear next to the cursor. Click to open in Apple Maps. To avoid ReMapping a link, hold down any modifier key (command, shift, etc.) before clicking.

The toolbar button indicates when a page can be sent to Apple Maps.

You can also right-click links and pages to open them in Apple Maps when the content is supported.

I've written a Shortcut for iOS that helps with this, and was awaiting macOS Monterey with Shortcuts built in to do the same for the desktop. This extension does it all, and so much better than what could be accomplished in a Shortcut! It's almost too easy to use! Polished, simple, and clean. I can understand why Apple doesn't mess with someone else's links by default in Safari, but hey, with this extension, I CAN! I am so over being tracked by the great GoOgle, and this helps put another nail in that coffin.

Doesn't Work For Me

I was pondering spending $2.99 on an app in 2021 but decided to support independent development. I'm sorry I did. After overlooking the fact that this developer hasn't yet submitted a privacy report, I reluctantly accepted the security warning from Safari regarding the extension being able to see everything I do or type and Google Mapped my local McDonald's and hit the "ReMap This Page" button. It loaded Maps, but to my dismay it found a McDonald's 19mins away from me (the McDonald's in my Google Maps tab was 9mins away). Wondering whether this was a fluke, I searched for another establishment with multiple locations, Walmart. Once again, I was redirected to a different Walmart than was in my Google Maps tab. Wish there was a review saying the product doesn't work before I purchased it. I'm going to see if Apple will refund my money.

Outstanding Product.

Does excatly what I wanted it to do. Kinda weird how this isn't already in Safari.
