Renamer - Five Year Review
I've been using Renamer since 2016. I mostly use it for renaming groups of photos to apply a consistent meaningful description. In 2019, I purchased version 5 just to stay current. However, I continued using the older version because it was more familiar. Today I purchased version 6. The price was about $17. I think the earlier versions cost less. I paid the $17 to help the developers. It's a useful app that I benefit from regularly. I like the colorful interface with version 6. A couple things that were a little confusing. First, in the old version the workflow was fairly obvious: (1) click and drag files into the app, (2) apply changes in right column, (3) click the Apply button. In version 6, you need to go to "Find and Replace" to insert text. Not intuitive. I looked for the Apply button, but there isnt' one. Then I noticed the small light colored triangle / play button and tried that to Apply the change and it worked. So, the user interface isn't super intuitive, but that's a small detail. I'll update this review if I run into any problems with the app. I'm using it on a Core i7 Mac Mini and a Mac Mini with M1 processor. I hope this helps others.
