Renogy DC Home 4+

Like previous reviews, I bought the Renogy system because their components are highly rated and Bluetooth allows me to monitor the system from my chair next to the campfire.

But the App is disappointing. Drop the social media features and bulk up the system monitoring capabilities. I really don’t care about “Joe123” in Albuquerque. I want to know what my battery status is in plain English.

Do I need to use less light?
Should I switch the refrigerator to propane?
Am I doing more harm to my battery than good?

These are the important questions, the App user needs to see. So give me the information.

Also the App could be used to educate Users. More and more people have solar installed or are installing solar. We all all not Solar or electrical savvy. Even if a person was, the App should be a aid in helping an owner explain the system to someone who isn’t. I can’t tell you how many fellow campers are intrigued by my Renogy Install, but the App doesn’t help me explain to them, in plain English, how it all works.

You want to grow your market, make the App an system focused and easy to use so Renogy Owners can be an ambassador for the product. Now your talking about sales growth.

Zero stars. Do not beleive the developers response you may read on this download area. This app requires login to monitor your off-grid system. Stupid. Many versions ago (Spring 2023), you could connect without a login, i.e. bypass the step, and see how your batteries were doing. It let you monitor your expensive investment. No more. corporate marketing has taken over. You can’t use the app to look at the batteries you bought, without signing up and loging in everytime. (They have deals, coupons, social media, and such.) Renogy has forgotten their core user base - offgrid users don’t need/want social tabs on their electrical monitoring app. If your in an RV and offgrid in the latest version - the app won’t connect…..cause you need to login. Seems developers/marketing/corporate forgot how people may use these batteries. Wish I never upgraded the app…old app worked fine. No login. (Ipad or phone). Funny thing, they tried this social, coupon strategy to stay attached to customers (and their location - cause they get that too), instead, it had the opposite effect - time to find another company that can allow customers to monitor thier $$$$ setup…

This is a fairly newer app that they continue to improve. They listen to feedback and have slowly made this app more user friendly. Some people want things to happen over night with this app and can be so demanding. There is a lot of people who feel that Renogy should just hand them products when they have nothing to offer Renogy in return. Aka the review about how Renogy literally should give him things to test and not market on social media? The entitlement is beyond me. Renogy influencers actually use the products and some live some intense off grid lives and I completely appreciate being able to see how others are using their products on social media. Renogy doesn’t owe you anything as far as free products and influencers get things because they have spent time and money investing in Renogy products they purchased already with their own money. I love the app but the community can be so full of entitlement it’s unreal.
