Renzoku Drums Free 4+

I love the simplicity of the layout. This is exactly how I visualize rhythm (a grid) and you can create some pretty fantastic grooves, especially if you make use of velocity (which couldn’t be simpler to use). If a few things were added, this could easily be a go to app for a number of uses. Well done developer. A great one-horse-pony so far (I mean that in the best way. it only does one thing but it does it VERY well).
I would love to see the ability to store/backup patterns (once you’ve created the 4 grooves, you’d have to over-write one to do another). Even a dropdown menu of your stored patterns would be a huge step up.

The record function is great but it would take it to another level if you could export per number of bars at the specified tempo (loop creation, etc…).

Also, a variety of sounds or ability to import your own sounds would be fantastic (I’d love to be able to use various world percussion as well). very cool.
With those changes, I would have no trouble paying real money for it.

I use this app to replace a metronome when I’m running drills on my guitar. It’s much nicer to use this than a metronome, since it feels more like playing with others. Yes, the sounds are mediocre, but it’s a free app that works great. I think it’s perfect for what it is.

I’m not really a fan of metronomes, and this app perfectly replaces a metronome with way more color and a live music feel. Highly recommended for tempo practice.
