RetailMeNot: Coupons, Cashback 4+

Why shop at all if your not using RetailMeNot lol. I started using them when they first started and I’ve never look back! People would laugh at me because I literally would not buy anything without checking here first. But…….they quickly stopped laughing when they could see both the cash back and/or much lower prices I was getting. I like to let the cash back build up all year then reward myself with something awesome for myself that I otherwise would not 😁. I am a RetailMeNot fan/saver for life. Everyone should be, they are by far the best of all those copycats hehe.

I’ve used this app for about 9 months now and have run into nothing but trouble. I’ll click on the online cash back offer, process to check out via the partner site as usual and maybe 1/10 of my purchases are tracked by RMN. Here is were the problems start: after waiting 45+ days to allow for the purchase to be tracked- per their policy, customer service agents ask a million questions to ensure you are using the app “appropriately” (adding items to the cart only after you click the offer, making your purchase within an allotted amount of time after the offer is clicked, having the proper browser installed, etc.). After this point they have to do a manual payout once you provide proof of the purchase, well they get tired of doing this and will suspend your account with no explanation given. During my last email exchange with a rep I was told they have issues with their app tracking purchases and this is a known issue but still refuse to process any additional manual payouts. When it works it’s ok, but trying to haggle with people to get money back is a pain, totally not worth it. Please don’t download this app and google their reviews and complaints with the BBB, I’m not the only one having issues with this company!

I understand this can be frustrating however, upon review of your interaction with our Customer Care team, your provided information in regards to how you complete your purchases is not optimal for receiving cash back rewards automatically. Our agent was correct, in that we no longer support the RetailMeNot app on iPads or other tablet devices, however you can still participate in cash back offers from the mobile web browser. You will still need to regularly clear your cash and cookies, and immediately complete your purchase in the merchant generated window. Visiting other sites will interfere with RetailMeNot receiving the purchase information and paying out your reward automatically. Majority of our users do receive rewards automatically and manual payouts are intended for one-off cases. With that being said, we would be happy to manually review purchases in the future after we see that you have been able to successfully participate in the cash back program. We do see that you have a recent offer in pending, which is great! We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused, and encourage you to reach out to Customer Care if you have additional questions on how to use our offers.

Added the extension to safari and it’s been nothing but a hassle. First, the extension frequently causes websites to crash. The extension also enables a box with an “R” on the right hand side of every web page and every time I’ve tried filtering results when shopping, this “R” box causes issues selecting filters. I find myself disabling the extension more than using it.

Which brings me to the biggest issue of all. I’ve been using the extension for a month now and while the purchases show under the rewards activity, not a single reward has been process nor do the rewards activity show the purchase amount or cash back I will receive. Even if it was just in pending status, no big deal! But the fact that it’s just the name of the store where I made the purchase and nothing more makes me feel like I got scammed. Oh! And when I click on each reward (there’s 5 that I’ve activated) it states “We’re waiting for -insert store name here- to let us know you made a purchase.” I can’t find a way to contact customer service and all in all, I’m just frustrating with the app and the extension. My experience on a whole has been BAD.
