Inner critic to inner coach

As a LCSW and Life Coach I teach people how thoughts create feelings which drive our actions and create our results and life experiences. Often our thoughts are critical and hold us back from creating the life we actually want. Despite my education and training, my brain is no different. This is a beautiful app that has been pivotal in turning my inner critic into my inner coach. Hearing my own voice say positive things I admit was awkward at first, but I have grown to appreciate how nurturing and supportive I am. The app gives you the option of creating different lists of affirmations. I have created an affirmation list from my future-self thanking and encouraging me through some recent challenges. This app has helped me create many small shifts in my thoughts that I know will lead to big changes and keep me focused in the direction I want to take my life. I have encouraged my clients to also use this app to help support them outside of our sessions.

Easiest App for Brain Reprograming

Best app I have used to date for those working with positive cognitions/beliefs/affirmations to change your thinking and being. The app is super easy to navigate. I recommend trying the free version first to get a feel for the layout. I upgraded to the Premium for the extended time limit (5 min) to record longer affirmations and it’s well worth it.
The app allows for you to create playlists where you combine different affirmation recordings together. There are several background sound options to chose from to play along with your recording.
If you don’t know where to start, the app provides you with a lengthy list of ideas for yourself to get you going (“it’s safe to relax now”, “opportunities are everywhere”).
It’s wonderful to listen to while going to sleep and upon waking up when our subconscious is most accessible.

Words are Power!

When I first downloaded the app, I was worried about listening to myself do affirmations. But then, after recording a few and pressing play, my immediate reaction was to start to tear up. This was the first time I listened to my voice and felt so much compassion for myself. To hear yourself say that you’re powerful, that you’re brave, that you can achieve anything… It’s a game changer. As a life coach and a solo traveler, I am not recommending this app to all of my clients and community members, because this is a tool that will get them and myself closer to our goals.
