Film looks: fourteen new looks inspired by classic slide, negative, cine, and black-and-white film. RevelRaw's own looks were also re-tuned to protect skin tones and keep highlights soft, so faces stay natural and bright skies fade out gently instead of clipping. A new HSL section: adjust hue, saturation, and luminance in eight color bands, from reds through magentas. Each slider's track shows its own colors, so you can see where a band is heading before you let go. Easier to pick a look: the look grid now scrolls a whole page at a time, a short description under each name says what the look does, and the previews show colors the way the editor does. Reopening a photo keeps its look suggestions in the same order, so a look you spotted earlier is right where you left it. Your edits stay as they were: photos you edited before keep their look exactly, even when that look was re-tuned or renamed. Two looks have new names: Vivid Slide and Pastel Negative.

Faster editing: sliders respond more quickly on large RAW files, photos open to their first preview sooner, and zooming in to check fine detail is smoother. Film grain now looks the same in the preview as in your export. Cleaner Highlights and Shadows: a new rendering process pulls back highlights and lifts shadows by following the photo's own local tones, so strong edits no longer leave halos along edges or a flat, washed-out look. Photos you edited before keep their look exactly as it was. To move one to the new process, click Update on its Earlier process version notice; Undo takes it back. Two new sliders, Structure and Dehaze: Structure adds or softens broad local contrast without boosting noise or shifting colors. Dehaze cuts through atmospheric haze, or adds a little for mood, while keeping grays neutral and never crushing your shadows. Free, no Pro needed. Lighter and more private: RevelRaw keeps a tighter hold on memory when many photos are open. On-device AI features, such as AI Denoise, tap-to-select masks, and Auto straighten, now have a single switch in Settings, so you can turn them all off. Nothing ever leaves your Mac.

Truer pictures: film-grain looks now grain vivid reds, oranges, and deep blue skies too, so red flowers, warm skin, and deep skies no longer show smooth, plastic-looking patches. Straightened and lens-corrected photos keep their fine detail and natural noise texture thanks to sharper resampling, and the vignette now follows your crop. Vivid colors exported to sRGB keep their hue instead of shifting, and drawing on a red, green, or blue curve no longer dulls them. Safer with your files: exports never overwrite your original photos, and if an export fails, the export sheet stays open and tells you why. A new Location option in the export sheet removes GPS data from exported photos; it is set to Remove by default for the Social and Web presets. Your looks and edits are protected against damaged files and files saved by a newer version of RevelRaw, deleting an imported LUT look no longer breaks the photos you graded with it, and each photo's caption, keywords, and location are now saved with that photo. Better XMP imports: when a photo's .xmp sidecar from another photo app includes a crop, the crop now comes across together with its straighten angle. Named white balances such as Auto, Daylight, and Cloudy are honored, and black & white edits open in black & white. LUT files (.cube) saved on Windows or by video-grading apps now import correctly, and any setting RevelRaw can't apply is listed instead of silently skipped. Free, no Pro needed. Easier to use: VoiceOver can read and adjust every slider, the tone curve, and the compare divider, and every toolbar button has a name. Esc and Return work in every sheet, slider values follow your region's number format, and the Golden Spiral and Triangles composition overlays are drawn correctly. Lens corrections: when a new photo carries a lens profile, RevelRaw applies it as the photo opens, for straighter lines and more even corners. The new Optics section shows whether a profile was applied and lets you turn Auto profile off per photo, and the Distortion, Chromatic Aberration, and Vignetting sliders fine-tune any lens by hand. Manual Distortion and Vignetting values saved in a photo's .xmp sidecar or DNG are applied too. Photos you edited before keep their look. Free, no Pro needed. Straighten: the crop tool now has a Straighten slider and an Auto button that finds the horizon and levels it in one click. When there is no clear horizon, choose Level and draw a line along anything that should be horizontal or vertical (a roofline, a door frame, a shelf) and the photo turns to match. Drag the slider or nudge it with the arrow keys in tenths of a degree, with a fine grid to line the horizon up against. Masks, gradients, and the AF point stay on the right pixels, and exports come out level. A straighten angle saved in a new photo's .xmp sidecar or DNG is applied too. Free, no Pro needed. Dust-spot removal: click the new Heal tool in the toolbar, then click each sensor dust spot to make it disappear. RevelRaw picks a matching patch nearby and blends it in before your look is applied. Drag to size a spot, or drag its dashed ring to choose the source yourself. Tick Heal Spots in Sync Settings or Paste Settings to carry the spots across a whole shoot, since the same dust lands on every frame. Free, no Pro needed. Culling: flag photos as picks or rejects and give them 0 to 5 stars. Press P, X, or U and 0–5, use Photo ▸ Flag and Photo ▸ Rating, or click the control bar above the filmstrip and grid, on one photo or a whole selection. Badges in the filmstrip and grid show each photo's flag and stars. Filter them to your picks, your rejects, the unflagged photos, or a minimum rating, and export just the picks in one go with Pro batch export. When you open a folder, star ratings also go into the .xmp sidecar of each RAW photo, where other photo apps can read them. Flags, stars, and the filter are free.

Selective edits: change just part of a photo. Click a face, the sky, or the background to select it (needs macOS 27), or use a linear gradient, a radial gradient, or a brush on any Mac. Feather, Amount, and Invert shape each area, with up to three layers per photo and their own sliders for exposure, contrast, warmth, and more. Sync, Copy, and Paste carry gradient and brush layers across a series. Free, no Pro needed.

Put your shoot in the order you want it. Drag a photo up or down the filmstrip, or anywhere in the browse grid, to arrange a shoot the way you actually want to work through it: your picks first, a before-and-after pair side by side. The order you set is the shoot's order everywhere — the arrow keys walk it, the filmstrip and the grid show it, and it's still there the next time you open those photos. Manage My Looks. File ▸ Manage My Looks… opens one list of every preset and LUT you've imported, Lightroom .xmp presets and .cube LUTs together, each marked so you can tell them apart. Reorder, rename, or delete them in one place, and the order you set is the order your looks appear in when you open a photo. Dragging to reorder needs macOS 27; on macOS 26, Move Up and Move Down do the same job. Shadows and Highlights that stay in their lane. Shadows, Highlights, Whites, and Blacks now work the way they do in Lightroom: each slider reaches only the tones it's named after. Lifting Shadows brightens the dark parts of a photo and leaves the mid-tones and the sky where they were; pulling Highlights back recovers a bright sky without dimming a face. Photos opened with Lightroom edits land much closer to what Lightroom shows, and the looks themselves keep their character. Auto white balance. One click on Auto in the White Balance row reads the scene and takes out the color cast the camera left behind — the greenish tinge some bodies give to shade and mixed light, the orange of tungsten. It leaves a photo that's already neutral alone instead of "fixing" a sunset. Auto is one undoable step, As Shot puts the camera's reading straight back, and the sliders stay live so you can fine-tune from there. Edit a whole shoot at once. Multi-select RAW files in the Open panel, pick a folder, or drop a batch onto the app, and RevelRaw loads the whole session — a filmstrip beside your photo, and a grid that greets you when nothing's open, with thumbnails showing what's already edited and which look it's wearing. Get a look right on one photo, then Sync, Copy, or Paste it onto the rest, choosing exactly which settings travel. The whole batch undoes in one step, and it's free. Your looks keep their color in any light. Every look and every tone slider now brightens or darkens a photo without shifting its color — warm evening light, blue hour and tungsten interiors no longer drift green or teal in the shadows. And photos now open at the brightness your camera intended, matching the camera's own JPEG and what you'd see in Lightroom — some bodies used to open as much as two stops too dark. Pro: batch export sends this photo, your selection, or the whole shoot to a folder in one pass, with a filename suffix and your choice of what happens when names collide. Sliders and curves got a serious upgrade. Every slider now uses its full travel end to end, tone controls never reverse or crush to black, and Clarity softens as well as sharpens with no more color fringing. The Orange, Green and Blue saturation sliders now affect only their own color instead of bleeding into others. The curve editor gains per-channel Red/Green/Blue curves next to the main one — right-click or press Delete to remove a point. Coming from Lightroom? Photos that carry Lightroom develop settings — DNGs exported from Lightroom, or RAWs with an .xmp sidecar — now open looking the way they do in Lightroom: white balance, exposure, tone, color and curves applied, with a badge that shows what came across and one click back to the camera's own rendering. Presets now hold their character on underexposed shots too, instead of flattening out. Fixed: on smaller displays, the batch-export sheet could push its Export button off the bottom of the screen.

New: control any adjustment slider from the keyboard. Click a slider — or press A — then tap the arrow keys to nudge values one step at a time. Tab moves between sliders. Also on macOS 27: the experimental RAW 9 neural decoder now supports DNG files, downloads its resources automatically on first use, and shows a badge when it's available for your camera — turn it on in Settings. The grain slider now has real range, film-style looks (Kodak Portra, Gritty Street, Silver Gelatin and friends) render cleaner and truer at every size, and their thumbnails match the final image. • Grid thumbnails no longer clip bright highlights, so high-key photos preview faithfully. SMOOTHER AND FASTER • Fixed: zooming into a photo could show a black or partially drawn frame.
