Device is great. App is “just okay” & REQUIRES INTERNET!

The device itself is great, works and seeing improvements.

However… the app needs some work. It’s kind of clunky and takes longer than I’d like to connect to the device.

One thing I didn’t see listed anywhere is that you MUST be connected to the Internet which makes no sense to me.

I recently went on a trip out of the country and at Sea where I did not have a connection to the Internet. The app won’t even start up without Internet, just sits on the logo screen and hangs. No error messages or anything that states you need a connection to the web.

This is a Bluetooth device and should not need internet. So does this mean all our data is not on our phones and on company servers? That’s the only way this makes sense but is a bit uneasy from a privacy perspective.

Anyway, it was very frustrating that I packed my device and took extra precautions to make sure it didn’t get damaged in my travels just to find I could not use it my entire trip.

I’d love for the dev team to allow use without internet/on airplane mode considering this is a Bluetooth device and not something that requires an IP address.

The app I’d give a 3/5 star but the device itself I’d give a 5/5.

Great product.

I have been using the Revian cap for approximately 1 year (maybe a little more). I did a lot of research on this product after years of thinning hair. I have never been able to find out the exact cause of my thinning hair but I strongly suspect it was a combination of things including some medical issues, overprocessing that might have caused some scalp irritation, and of course, hormones. I have changed multiple things so I cannot say that Revian is the sole contributor, but I have been diligent in using it as recommended for 10 minutes daily for at least 28 out of 30 days a month. I can see a difference. Do I have thick, full hair? No, but I’m not 20 years old anymore either. I know that this cap is an investment but it is painless, quick and simple to use everyday. I wish I had before and after but I don’t because honestly I wasn’t expecting a big change. The change has been subtle but I’m much happier than I was 2-3 years ago.

The customer service has been fabulous, which makes paying a large amount for this product even more satisfying. I have only needed to contact customer service a few times, but the response has been very quick and it has been customized to my question or request so I know the company actually listens to its customers.

I highly recommend this product.

App is unnecessary and slow - hat constantly dead

Red light treatments work. They work well! It’s proven. I use a mask for my face and LOVE it! You simply push a button and it comes on for the allotted time (3 minutes.) It only has to be charged maybe once every 90 uses. That’s it, nice and simple! Revian is obnoxious. First of all you basically only get two uses out of it and it dies/forces you to charge it. I hate having the huge helmet sitting around my place charging constantly. Not to mention, going to put it on, feeling proud you are completing the daily task and it almost always says “nope! I’m dead. Oh well. Guess you aren’t actually completing this task.” It’s sooooo frustrating! Furthermore, you have to utilize this pointless app. Why can’t I just push a button and it turn on? Why do I have to launch a slow app, connect which takes forever, only to find out most of the time it’s dead anyways! But if I’m lucky and it’s not dead, have to click another button to start. So many unnecessary steps. Look for another manufacturer. I can’t recommend this brand considering its price and obnoxious user experience. It’s almost as if they are deterring you from using it??? So odd.

Update: switching to one star. Literally dies after one use now.

Hi Coco. From what you are describing, it sounds like there may be an issue with the magnetic tip located in the cap's charging port and your battery is unable to get a full charge. The cap's battery is designed to complete 2-3 full treatments before needing to be recharged. We absolutely agree that red light works! However, not all red light therapy is the same and different devices serve different purposes. Different wavelengths, different energy outputs, and different doses of light therapy. REVIAN’s optical output is 1.67mW/cm2 (milli-watt per centimeter squared) while a red light device meant for the face would have a much lower output.
